Last night I ordered food around 11:40 PM.

The driver handed me the bag, smiled, and said,

"Be careful tonight. Someone has been watching your house."

I laughed because I thought he was joking.

He didn't laugh back.

I asked him what he meant.

He looked at the upstairs window and quietly said,

"The same person was standing there when I pulled up."

I live alone.

There are no lights upstairs.

I checked my security camera a few minutes later.

The driver was right.

A friend of mine is a police officer.

Last night, he responded to a call about strange noises coming from an attic.

This morning, he texted me one sentence.

"If you ever hear footsteps above your ceiling... don't assume it's an animal."

I asked him what happened.

He never replied.

That's not like him.

I work the night shift, so I usually sleep during the day.

This morning, my neighbor stopped me before I got in my car.

She asked if my little girl was feeling better.

I told her I don't have any children.

She looked confused.

Then she said...

"That's strange... I've seen the same little girl waving from your upstairs window almost every afternoon this week."

I live alone.

I've lived here alone for almost three years.

The light never went out.

That was the strangest part.

In December 1900, a relief ship arrived at the Flannan Isles Lighthouse off the coast of Scotland.

The lighthouse was working exactly as it should.

But the three lighthouse keepers were gone.

The main door was unlocked.

A meal had been left unfinished.

One chair had been pushed back as if someone had stood up... and never returned.

Two sets of waterproof coats were missing.

One coat was still hanging inside.

No footprints led away.

No bodies were ever found.

The official explanation was that a massive wave swept the men into the sea.

But experienced lighthouse keepers knew the rules.

Deep in the Louisiana swamps lurks a creature that has terrified New Orleans for over 200 years.
THE GRUNCH — a 3-foot tall, goat-headed monster with scaly gray skin, glowing red eyes, and a spine of sharp quills. Blood-sucking. Intelligent. And it hunts in packs.

The Legend
In the 1800s, Marie Laveau — the Voodoo Queen — came into possession of a "devil baby." To stop its evil, she castrated it. But when the bloody testicles hit the floor, they transformed into two creatures: a male and female Grunch.
They attacked her so brutally she nearly died. When she woke, they were gone — escaped into the swamps to reproduce and terrorize New Orleans for centuries.
The Bait
The Grunch leaves injured goats on dark roads as bait. When you stop to help, they drag you into the woods. Drain your blood. Then eat you.
Grunch Road — a dead-end dirt road in eastern New Orleans — has been their hunting ground since the 1820s.
Real Encounters

1860s: Confederate soldiers in Chalmette killed by a horned swamp creature

1909: A Grunch attacked a moving streetcar. Made headlines across the city.

2005: After Hurricane Katrina, Lakeview residents stopped leaving pets outside. The storm displaced Grunches into neighborhoods.
