COMMUNIST MAYOR ATTACKS HISPANIC SHERIFF, APPOINTS EX-COP WHO HATES NYPD!!!

NEW YORK CITY, NY - New York City is quickly becoming Bizarro World, as those of us in law enforcement who are sitting on the sidelines and other departments, can't seem to understand what or why is happening! The communist mayor of the city decided to began making slanderous attacks on Sheriff Anthony Miranda, and then fired him!

In New York City, the sheriff is appointed by the mayor, rather than being elected like every other county in that state, and indeed, most of the country. Sheriff Miranda had served the city as Sheriff since 2022. Sheriff Miranda is a decorated hispanic law enforcement officer, who has run the department as efficiently as possible in the confused law enforcement framework in America's largest city.

The Sheriff in New York City is part of the Department of Finance, and handles investigations into tax enforcement, ci******es, canabis, property crimes and more. They also handle auctions, seized property, etc. All deputies are peace officers and fully-commissioned law enforcement personnel. Their uniforms and vehicles are similar to NYPD .

The departure of a dedicated commander would be shocking to the department, but at this point in our story, things get even stranger! The leftist mayor of the City, Mamdani, decided to appoint a former NYPD officer who has a long history of suing his department and betraying fellow officers.

The former NYPD officer is a man named Edwin Raymond. Raymond started betraying fellow officers when he loudly supported a lowlife NFL player who called for policemen to be killed. Raymond tried to downplay that, and just began attacking the criminal justice system, generally. Then, during the riots a few years ago, this failed politician (he ran for city office, and lost) came out against the police and supported rioters.

ILE was able to speak with two police officers, both NYPD officers, who were horrified by this announcement: horrified, but not surprised. Since Mamdani has loudly proclaimed he wants NYPD "disbanded," no one is astonished that he is using every tool to undermine law enforcement. But dismissing the sheriff wasn't expected, and now an entire department is uncertain.

ILE has not had a chance to interview an NYC Sheriff's Deputy, but our NYPD sources suggest that a few of their (sheriffs) officers are ready to quit when Raymond starts. If he was emboldened to stand against cops when he was a mere Lieutenant, how bad will it when he is carrying stars on his collar?

ILE prays for our brothers and sisters in NYC, and hopes they get out now. Florida is hiring!

*Police - Limited Jurisdiction Agency*
The Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority is a state-run agency based in New York that has jurisdiction over, as suggested, several bridges and tunnels in the greater NYC area. Their officers are commissioned as peace officers, and are armed. Their primary duty is traffic enforcement and keeping the roads clear.

There was a time when their ranks included fare takers/toll booth operators, but with automatic tolling during Covid, there are none of those left.

In fact, the MTA (the overseeing agency) is working hard to disband this police force, and let the MTA Police take over (who are, as of now, a separate state entity).

This video was sent in by a follower, and shows some two TBTA cars on a bridge to the Bronx, providing traffic control while a flatbed loads up a disabled vehicle.

TBTA cars used to be white, but have recently switched over to have the exact same color scheme as the New York State Police

SEATTLE NEIGHBORHOOD ERECTS BARRICADES DUE TO CRIME | PUBLIC GETTING EXACTLY THE LAW ENFORCEMENT IT WANTED

EDTORIAL - SEATTLE, WASHINGTON - Seattle was once a somewhat left-wing, eccentric, but beautiful place to live, with great houses, wonderful vistas, broad bike paths, and a friendly and outgoing populace. This has not been true for many years, As the left wing ideology that pervades the state led to an open war upon law enforcement and law enforcement officers themselves. Now, crime is rampant, and residents are trying to defend themselves. The sad truth is that these residents, some of which who are innocent victims, are paying the price for the hate of police that they created.

Aurora Avenue is a commercial and residential corridor in Seattle Where a violent shootout occurred over the weekend. This is in a neighborhood that is now overrun by drug trafficking, gun violence, prostitution, and other crimes. After the most recent shooting, some residents had enough, and began erecting makeshift barricades to stop traffic. These same residence have allegedly cried out to their leaders for more law enforcement, and for more public safety measures to be taken.

However, city leaders have remained silent, and law enforcement as not ramped up at all. But let us ask ourselves the more serious question how could it? More aptly, who would dare?

Seattle is a land of hypocrisy. These most recent barricades were quickly removed by the city. Trash trucks and public works wreckers swept in to open up the road. Time? 48 hours. But....what about a few years ago? Seattle was home to the "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone", a barricaded area where terrorists, leftists, and criminals "expelled" police blocked traffic and tried to set up their own state! How long did it take for the city to respond? SIX WEEKS! That's right. Traffic was impeded, safety threatened, and the very authority of the state itself was attacked, and yet the city did nothing.

Indeed, the Mayor called it the "summer of love." Seriously? Meanwhile, Seattle police officers were being attacked, and simultaneously told NOT to make arrests by leftist leaders.

Then, the attacks on police got worse. Seattle City Government, to this day, has a page on its website (link below) demanding that officers lose their immunity from prosecution, so that officers can be sued and their families can lose their homes.

So what of the Seattle Police? How does this effect the residents of Aurora Avenue? The silence of the police is deafening. Residents cry out for law enforcement, but law enforcers aren't make the arrests they did, because they KNOW (and the city has confirmed!) that officers who make arrests won't be protected, or indemnified. All it takes is a scumbag to claim the cuffs were too tight, or a white officer arrests a black criminal, and the officer is done. He can sued and fired, and then arrested. So why would any Seattle Police Officer put his Whole heart into the enforcement of the law, knowing that he himself will soon be the victim?

Seattle Police are terrified of their city, and it is affecting the innocent residents. Detectives are not lying in wait for their prey, criminals, because no one will have their back. The citizenry itself rose up, as a body a few years ago to attack the police, and we have never forgotten. We said then that people would get exactly the kind of law enforcement that they wanted. Now they have gotten exactly that.

If the residents of Aurora Avenue, Seattle, want police to hunt criminals once more, simple things have to happen:
1) support the police
2) support officers when a subject gets arrested
3) STOP supporting criminals
4) let officers know that you have their backs
5) vote out anti-police politicians
6) hold the supporters of anti-police measures ACCOUNTABLE, civilians and officials both, online and elsewhere - just like they claim to want of us!!!

ILE feels for the innocent, normal citizens who havent partaken in the anti-police rhetoric, and are living in fear of crime. They should leave - or they should work to restore the rule of law, so that officers can actually fight crime, and not fear the repercussions of fighting it.

As Police Officers, we should fear death in the line of duty. We shouldn't have to daily live in fear of betrayal by the very people we are sworn to protect.

FROM THE DISPATCHER'S DESK - ARE DISPATCHERS FIRST-RESPONDERS?
OPINION - 911 Dispatchers and Call-takers aren’t first responders. Well, at least they aren’t if you ask the federal government and 25 states across the country. We are only “Office and Administrative Support” workers.

Under this classification, salary standards, training requirements, mental health resources, and even retirement benefits are limited when compared to that of police officers, firefighters, and EMTs. We are not viewed as the “first, first responders,” not even as “first responders." So who are we?

Well, we are the ones who provide life saving instructions, who gather information to keep public safety personnel safe, who provide a reassuring voice on someone’s worst day, who interact with every single emergency situation, and rarely ever get any type of follow up or disposition.

According to the government, though, we are nothing more than clerical workers. Aside from being wildly out of touch with reality, this classification has real, meaningful, and significant repercussions considering the work we do.

For one, we do not qualify for benefits under the Public Safety Officer’s Benefits Program (PSOB), a federal program that provides death and education benefits to the survivors of fallen officers, firefighters, and EMTs who were killed in the course of their duties or by su***de as a result of their work (PTSD is a scary thing as we all unfortunately know). Even at a state level; Pennsylvania, for example, has a state level equivalent program, where over $125,000 worth of death benefits and a monthly benefit equal to the deceased’s salary can be paid out for a LODD for every first responder— except dispatchers of course. Dispatchers are be the voice on the other end of a mass casualty event, talk an officer through a life-or-death situation, and if you have a fatal cardiac event during that call — your family isn’t entitled to the same consideration.

One can figure that this course of work subjects us to having PTSD. Other public safety personnel (PD, Fire, EMS) benefit from a legal presumption that the PTSD is work-related, and as such, are able to receive mental health care without having to prove that it’s work-related in order to be covered. Dispatcher do not get that same presumption. This isn’t the same for us— we have to PROVE that it’s work-related. Trauma and PTSD for public safety workers is effectively considered an occupational disease. Everyone, including dispatchers, should be able to be seek treatment without having to jump through hoops.

To infuriate us even further, under current federal classifications, positions like school crossing guards are recognized as first responders, but 911 professionals are classified as secretaries. That’s not an exaggeration — it’s the actual legislative language used when the 911 SAVES Act was introduced!!!

There is a small ounce of hope though. 24 states have enacted and/or adopted varying resolutions and laws that reclassify public safety telecommunicators (dispatchers and call-takers) to the first responder standard to be able to reap the various benefits at a state level, but this isn’t enough. The current congress has the power to change this— and it’s so close to being changed. The US Senate passed S. 725, the Enhancing First Response Act on September 10th of last year. This has been sitting in the US House ever since.

This is simply not acceptable. We are all in this together. This is a thankless job— and while we never wish to have our days cut short, whether at our hands or someone else’s, we should at least be assured that those we leave behind will be taken care of, just as we’ve taken care of everyone.

SYNC LIGHTS - WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?
A new lighting concept has taken law enforcement (and their command staffs!) by storm, where squad cars' lighting packages connect via sensors to detect another approaching squad car, and to sync those lights in park mode. This has the effect of make each car flash in tandem with the others.

The companies who offer this technology are quick to tout that it is less distracting for motorists who could get confused by all of the flashing lights at a scene.

A counter argument, however, is that the sync'd lights make it appear as if the scene is worked only by one squad car rather than many, and may confused motorists who think the scene is not as a big as it is, and misjudge the number of lanes they have to get over. Further, opponents argue that the wig-wag effect of the lights is too dull, suggesting something less than an emergency scene.

So far, the technology seems to have captivated the minds of fleet managers and department leaders, who are buying up these systems and integrating them into existing cars. Even security companies are getting into the act, as shown in the video, below.

ILE is split! Two of our three founding members love the technology, while one absolutely hates it.

Where do you come down? Is it a great advancement for officer safety? Is it distracting, or confusing? Or do you think it doesn't matter one way or another to oncoming traffic?

*Fugitive Recovery*
U.S Felony Bond Investigations is a bounty hunting outfit out of Alabama. Unlike many bounty hunters, they have two marked units which appear to be used for transports.

That part seems fine, and even makes sense. But the guns-out pic seems pointless, and even laughable.

Thoughts?

Policing in Brazil is A Whole Different Level!
- This video was sent to us by a follower and shows a whole different level of law enforcement than we cops in the US are used to. In this interaction, this policeman starts with his pistol unholstered and ready to use at a moment's notice as he talks to a random cyclist neat to him. None of us at ILE speak Portugese, but it sounds like a simple, even toned interaction with a bystander: no threat, no problem, no warnings.

But in Brazil, officers are killed at an alarming rate, at almost 200 per year. Far more are seriously injured and/or maimed by gangs which make the Bloods look tame. Ambushes on officers are commonplace by gangs, and even by children employed by (members of) those gangs.

Officers in Brazil face an unfortunate war on them by criminals that they fight zealously, to protect the innocent.

I was able to confirm the affiliation: these officers in the video are part of the Policia Militar, or Military Police. This is a kind of national police force that augments the state and local police throughout the country. Because of this, they are able to call on military assistance regularly.

*Security*
Executive Tactical Protection Team LLC is out of Palmdale, California. This is a smaller outfit, but has grown a bit in the few years they've been around.

The name is a bit cringey - but to their credit, the cars are clearly marked with "SECURITY" along the flanks. A few of their guys are decent.

And check out that old school lightbar on the charger!

Bail Enforcement Badge - More and More Common - But Why?
- We have been seeing this badge more and more among bounty hunters, and It's a little bit confusing, not to mention almost concerning. Are certain bounty hunters intentionally trying to misrepresent themselves as federal agents? Most aren't, but some are indeed.

Let's look at bounty hunting overall. Bounty hunting is necessary, and a very legitimate profession. Bounty hunters are given warrants they do their best to enforce them. But bounty hunters are private personnel, just like most security officers. Bounty hunters work for bail bondsman, who hold the bonds that have been revoked by someone who didn't show up for a specific court appearance. Bounty hunters have broad latitude and what they do, and how they do it, but they still have to obey numerous laws and regulations set out to protect the public.

There are some bounty hunters who believe they are SWAT operators, and to be fair, some are well-trained, as they DO have to enter residences and use force to effect arrests of those who are statistically going to resist. But for every good, solid hunter, there are five or six wannabes who skipped training, and don't care to read the law.

Which brings us back to this badge. if you look at the cut of it, it appears to be an intentional effort to resemble badges used by federal agents, up to an including the big us on either side of the central seal. Dispatch seems to be creeping up more and more these days.

Does anyone know who is pushing this, or why this particular shield is gaining prominence, or is it just coincidence?

AMBULANCE STRUCK BY BULLET. CHIEF SAYS "WEAR YOUR VEST!"
NEW YORK CITY, NY - A New York City ambulance was hit by gunfire this week, in a shooting that wounded a nearby young man, but thankfully injured no medics.

Still, the Chief of EMS Operations in New York, Paul Miano, sent out a memo to Call medics where he told them to wear their Department issued vests, as well as their "department issued personal protective equipment."

The Incident unfolded in one of the five boroughs, in Bronx. One subject open fire, so it is not yet known who the subject was shooting at. An 18 year old man received a stomach wound, and a responding ambulance heading to a sick person call was struck by one of the rounds. The bullet went through the cab of the ambulance, as well as the patient compartment!

The Chief said "this incident is a powerful reminder of the danger you face every day while responding to and operating at assignments throughout the city."

Medics in New York City face and incredibly tough battle, not only on the job, but indeed in their very lives. Did you know that New York City EMTs are among the lowest paid First Responders in the city? It's true, they make less than FDNY firefighters, and brand new NYPD officers. This is in a city where an average apartment can cost between two and $4,000 per month!

Unfortunately, the Chief did not remark on the reality that not all medics have been issued their bullet proof vests. Some stations have not received replacements for new medics at all, despite requests from their supervisors.

It should also be noted that many calls are run not by FDNY, but contract ambulance services that do not have the same protections. New York City, like DC and others, contract for certain transports, and calls in certain areas. These Medics are paid even less, and it never issued bulletproof vests at all!

According to the anti-first responder Mayor, however, there's nothing to worry about. After all, "crime is down."

Inside Law Enforcement Extends our full support, for what it's worth, to our medic brothers and sisters up in the Big Apple. No cop worth his salt would ever fail to support a medic, since that's who we call when WE need help.

Golden Tactical Response - what can we say? Here is a supposed security company that goes out of its way to attack police officers, and spit on the graves of the fallen! It goes without saying that this level of villainy is disgusting, and deserves to be stopped immediately.

ILE made a post, honoring the sacrifice of the Fallen brother. The owner of this ridiculously named security company began to make posts, condemning police officers, and then openly supporting the murder of law enforcement personnel!

I have to wonder, what sort of companies would hire such a vial business, and what sort of disgusting human being you have to be to openly Advocate that our fellow officers be killed. This disgusts us to no end.

Please join us in condemning this page, and calling out and actively stopping anti-law enforcement rhetoric wherever you find it.
