Reflect on these words...
You carry three Stanley cups, 14 bags, and probably a toddler on your hip while you were on a Zoom call. So baby, don’t tell me you can’t learn how to do a pushup. What area of your life are you like, you know what, I just want like the bare minimum. I just want my partner to give me the bare minimum. I want my kids to achieve the bare, no. But then when we’re talking about our own health, we’re allowing ourselves to adopt standards globally that are perhaps the bare minimum individually.
And that’s unacceptable in most areas of our lives, and it should be unacceptable for your health. So for movement practices, I want you lifting weights three days a week. I want you moving your body. And yes, cumulatively, walking is amazing. Not all of us need to be like running marathons and going hard in the paint. You know, every workout doesn’t need to leave you thrashed on the floor. But you should be breathless. You should be doing HIIT work. It should be vigorous. It should be hard. You can handle hard.
And stop telling yourself the story that you can’t do hard things because you carry three Stanley Cups, 14 bags, and probably a toddler on your hip while you were on a Zoom call. So, baby, don’t tell me you can’t learn how to do a push-up. I don’t believe you. I don’t believe you.
