Friday, October 17, 2025 is the DMV launch for the historian Gerald Horne’s latest book, The Capital of Slavery: Washington, DC, 1800 to 1865. There will also be a community discussion about how the origins of DC still echo today!
Doors open at 6:30pm with a reception at the beautiful Cultural Arts Center of Montgomery College, 7995 Georgia Avenue in Downtown Silver Spring, Maryland, just two blocks from the DC border,
