You can be grateful and still need a minute.

You can love your family and need some quiet.

You can count your blessings and still feel overwhelmed.

You can trust God and whisper, “Lord, I’m tired.”

Sometimes, rest means taking a break from always doing, helping, fixing, and being available to everyone.

God loves you while you’re resting, too.

Let somebody help you. Give yourself some of the tenderness you so freely give everyone else.

You can come to God with gratitude and exhaustion in the same prayer:

“Thank You, Lord, for my life. Please help me with the weight of it.”

We often thank God for bringing us through trouble, but how often do we thank Him for the trouble He never allowed to reach us?

For the danger He redirected.
For the plans He interrupted.
For the battles He settled without ever disturbing our peace.
