The U.S. has attacked Iran.

The United States and Israel launched “major combat operations” against Iran on Saturday morning with the goal of halting the country’s military and nuclear weapons program and ending its regime, President Donald Trump said.

“We are going to destroy their missiles and raze their missile industry to the ground,” Trump said.

Iran's state media said it had launched retaliatory strikes against American targets in the Middle East after the joint U.S.-Israeli attack, and explosions were seen at a U.S. Navy base in Bahrain.

The attack follows weeks of rising tensions as Trump repeatedly threatened to attack Iran if negotiations over its nuclear and missile development programs fail.

Apart from launching missiles on Israel, Iran has launched strikes on US military bases in six different countries so far, according to reports. The countries are Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE and Kuwait. This comes after US and Israel attacked Iran in a joint operation earlier on Saturday. The US named the attack on Iran ‘Operation Epic Fury’.
