The Washington Little Theater Co. gets to have the unexpected honor of hosting Kurt Sutton's final career performance as Mark Twain. Please come out to support him and our theater. He will be in the lobby after each performance signing autographs and talking with people.
Please share with your friends. Let's fill up the House and give him a good showing for his last walk across the stage!
While setting up for this weekend's performances, Mr. Kurt Sutton informed us that these will be his final career performances as Mark Twain and Samuel L. Clemens.
For the past 14 years, Mr. Sutton has tickled audiences with the wit and wisdom of Samuel L. Clemens, better known as the beloved Mark Twain. His knowledge comes from a life-time love of the author-lecturer-performer. For more than 50 years, Mr. Sutton has been a student of Clemens, learning everything he can about his life, behavior, and accomplishments.
Although others have re-enacted as Clemens over the years, Sutton is the only one to do so nationally. He has portrayed Clemens and Twain everywhere from small community events to large professional theaters, from California to Texas to New York to right here in Washington, Georgia.
We strongly encourage you to come out and see these final performances this evening at 7:30 PM and tomorrow afternoon at 3 PM. After tomorrow's performance, Mr. Kurt Sutton will lay down the name of Mark Twain indefinitely.
