“Black Magic” was the nickname of the Easton bat that the Upper St. Clair baseball team used during its WPIAL championship run in 1992. The bat was given to the 2026 team in hopes it snapped the 34-year streak without another title. The 2026 squad defeated South Fayette, 3-2, to claim the Class 5A championship.

As Upper St. Clair was battling South Fayette for its second WPIAL baseball title in school history, Sean Casey and Mike Junko sat in the seats at EQT Field in Washington on May 27. They soaked up the scenery and reveled in the Panthers’ 3-2 triumph in the Class 5A championship game all the while ...

With enthusiasm, Jocelyn Stein and Charlotte Crawley greeted visitors to Neil Armstrong Middle School. “Welcome to NAMS’s final mission,” they said as they opened the glass doors to the building that had educated Bethel Park “tweeners” since 1970. Both recently completed sixth grade and wi...

“Community day is one of my favorite days,” said Dylan Childs, USC senior class president. “I like being out here, seeing everyone, seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces. It just makes my day.”

With the state of affairs around the globe, Upper St. Clair attempted to provide a brief respite. On May 16, the high school’s student council transported the community to another world, presenting a virtual utopia when it hosted “Cosmic Community Day, 2026.” “We do think USC really is out o...
