Efforts continue to raise awareness about the dangerous intersections on the Hwy. 7 bypass and to lobby for additional safety measures and/or improvements. Check out this new page created to archive personal stories and get the word out. Also a public meeting was held last Thursday, July 17, with Northern District Transportation Commission John Caldwell. Check out the next edition of the North Mississippi for a full report from that meeting.

📢 BIG NEWS!

The Mayor and Board of Aldermen approved a major contract yesterday to begin over 53 miles of right-of-way clearing across Water Valley. Over 40 miles of electric lines will be cleared by outside contractors, while Water Valley crews will clear an additional 13 miles. The Water Valley Electric Commission will assume administration and ex*****on of this contract upon its official start date on August 1st. So, be looking here for updates from the Commission!

✅ Reduce power outages
✅ Protect critical infrastructure
✅ Improve safety and reliability for every customer

This is a major investment in the future of our electric system—and we’re just getting started.
