Originally called "Across from the Horse", this was another of the upscale bars in downtown not too long ago.

The two-floor 26 North Main Street drinking and dining establishment closed in 2008. It originally opened under the “Across from the Horse" name in 1982.

It changed owners several times and was called The Brass Horse American Bar & Grill, among other similar variations.

The business took its name from the 2,500-pound horse statue on the east end of the Green.
