SEARCH WARRANTS EXECUTED AT TWO COHOES LOCATIONS

Cohoes Police, along with investigators from the New York State Office of Cannabis Management, executed search warrants Wednesday at two locations in the city.

One of the locations was Smoke Rite at 125 Main Street, where police tape could be seen around the business. A notice posted on the door states that “illicit cannabis” was seized.

A second warrant was executed at 45 White Street.

In addition to the police activity, the City of Cohoes Code Enforcement Department tagged both buildings for code violations.

Cohoes Police Chief Todd Waldin confirmed that members of the department were assisting OCM with the ex*****on of the warrants.

At this time, officials have released limited information about the investigation. It is not yet clear what led to the warrants, what was seized, or whether arrests or criminal charges will follow.

The Cohoes Times is working to get more information and will update this story as additional details become available.
