Time travel back with us! 🕒 On June 7th, 1934 Massena officials decided to abandon Daylight Saving Time for the year after 850 residents petitioned for the change. 📅 Officials ultimately determined it was just too late in the season to pull off the switch.

This Day in North Country History 🍦🐄🚜👩‍🌾

After seeing all the pride at the Dairy Parade last night, it’s clear that our connection to the land and our farmers is as strong as ever.

Whether you’re a lifelong resident or just passing through, take a moment this month to thank a farmer. Our local dairy industry doesn't just feed the world - it’s been the "coolest" part of our history for over 100 years.

According to a 1919 report by the Watertown Daily Times, an investigation revealed Watertown was consuming a staggering 2,000 gallons of ice cream every single day. To put that in perspective: that’s about a half-pint for every resident, daily!

The North Country truly is the Dairy Mecca!
