Weather permitting, a developer will begin demolition work near the former City Hall building starting on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. This privately-led construction project is expected to continue through February 2027.

During this time, the north half of 2nd Street NE, between Kemp Avenue and 1st Avenue N, will experience extended long-term closures throughout the project. Motorists should observe all traffic control signs. Adjacent businesses will remain accessible at all times.

The City is sharing this information to help residents plan. If you have any questions, please contact the City of Watertown Engineering Division of the Public Works Department at (605) 882-6202.

Mike and Corrine Hedman and family of Watertown lost many personal belongings in a house fire Tuesday night.

They are in need of clothing:

Men's 3XL shirts, 38x32 pants and size 12 shoes.

Women's 3XL tops, XL leggings and size 8 shoes

Girls size small tops and pants and size 6-7 shoes

They are also in need of personal hygiene products.

Items, including cash donations, can be dropped off at Furry Friends Grooming at 115 9th Avenue SW Unit C in Watertown, or at the Midland Building (just east of the courthouse) in Watertown.

The annual Watertown Radio Pie Auction to benefit the Salvation Army will be held on the morning of Tuesday, November 25th.

All proceeds raised benefit local Salvation Army programs.

Active Heating employees will be in the Watertown Radio parking lot Monday October 20th from 11 am to 1 pm selling tickets for the 14th annual "Get Active in the Fight Against Cancer" pink furnace giveaway!

Tickets are $10 each, 3 for $20, or 9 for $50.

The raffle drawing will be Oct. 31st. The winner has their choice of a pink Coleman furnace installed ($8,000 value), or $3,000 cash.

Proceeds benefit Codington County Cares Cancer Foundation.

In the previous 13 years, the campaign has raised over $160,000!

This morning on Watertown Radio, we talked with Brittany Busskohl of the Glacial Lakes Humane Society about Bear.

Bear is a nearly two year-old male husky mix. He's been neutered, de-wormed and microchipped. He's up to date on all of this shots and now, he just needs to find a home.
