Will attempt updating. Still in hospital on oxygen fighting pneumonia from para influenza. Not covid. Showing some improvement. Slow recovery. Was not able to publish the Edge Oct 6. I am doubtful of having an edition Oct. 20th as well. I was very sick 5 days before being hospitalized Oct. 8 in Woodbury. They were lovely. And immediately got me into ER, on oxgygen, chest xrays and into a room. Saw Dr. Timothy Todd, then later Dr. Spurlock. Gotta love a doc who comes in and says, "well sis, what have you done?" Spurlock sees my dad, so knows the family. Oct. 9 my first ambulance ride from Woodbury to Murfreesboro as transferred to St. Thomas Rutherford. I'm in a step down unit 7th floor. Staff overall has been very attentive. Hospitalist is Dr. Huong. But i also can't say enough for our dear Friends/adopted family Dr. Dray and his wife He has continually checked in and offered Bobby much needed reassurance.
I don't know how much longer I will be here, but they are doing all they can to get me better.
Your prayers and love and concern have met the world to me through this trying time. Love you all. ~ Lounita

Meet my "new" ride! I think it's an excellent replacement for the Jeep that was totaled two weeks ago when I was hit on S. Water (Hwy 109) in Gallatin. Like my old ride of 21 years, it is a 1998 Jeep, straight 6, 4WD. This one is a Grand Cherokee Laredo, 191k mile (that's 136k mile LESS than old reliable). Perfect for delivering my newspaper and general running around. Some dings and faded paint and a few minor repairs needed, but it is road worthy! Bought it from an individual this morning in Rickman (north of Cookeville), brought her home, loaded up and headed out to finish delivering The Edge to our racks in Lebanon. Got her registered, keys made and insured. Good to go!

The community is truly covering this precious family with love in their time of great loss. đź’–

The Shop Springs community is mourning the shocking and sudden loss of a great husband, father, son, brother and friend, Nick Forbes. Growing up, we spent many nights in the creek, camping and being kids. My camping buddy, frog giggin’ partner and friend, Nick was always the kindest and most gentle person you would meet. Later in life was no different. Nick would give the shirt off his back to help a friend.

It is with great sadness that I write this message, but Elizabeth and I have thought all week of what we could do to help the most. When reading Nick’s obituary, at the end it stated that in lieu of flowers, please contribute to a fund for “The Forbes Children” at Wilson Bank & Trust as Nick left behind 4 precious children. So, that’s what we want to do and we want you to help us.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 11, 2021 all profits from the creamery will be contributed to the children’s account at Wilson Bank & Trust. I want this to be our biggest day ever for my buddy Nick. There will also be a place at the creamery on Saturday for you to make additional donations as well if you would like.

Please remember Nick’s entire family in your prayers tomorrow as he is laid to rest and in the days to come as they will be difficult.

Late posting the August 25 edition. Forgive me! Main computer crashed halfway through getting this one put together. Then immediately after finishing up the "paper route", I was rear-ended driving my 1998 Jeep Cherokee Limited. While driveable, the insurance company will be totaling the Jeep. Lots of miles on both that old computer and my beloved old Jeep. Hoping to try to salvage the Jeep (frame is bent and back hatch won't open as it is crushed inward). The old PC - no chance of salvage. Y'all have a great weekend! ~ Lounita
