The Winter Storm Severity Index is forecast to reach the major stage in Oswego County beginning this evening and is expected to last until Sunday evening. Expect considerable disruptions to daily life as there will be dangerous or impossible driving conditions and widespread closures and disruptions to infrastructure that may occur.

Snowfall will begin in Oswego County this evening. The Winter Storm Severity Index reached the major stage as 8-12 inches of snow is expected with snowfall rates of 3-4 inches per hour at times.

Avoid travel if possible. Expect delays and closures. If you can't avoid traveling: clean off your vehicle before driving, drive slow and don't use cruise control, leave extra distance between vehicles, and don't crowd the plows. Roads can be slick even if they just look wet.
Practice safe shoveling: dress warmly, stay hydrated, move only small amounts of snow, and take frequent breaks.

If you are stranded in a vehicle, avoid carbon monoxide poisoning by running the motor for 10 minutes every hour. While your car is running, open the windows slightly for fresh air. Keep your exhaust pipe clear of snow.

Dick Van D**e reaching 100 feels like a moment the entire entertainment world has been waiting to honor. His career has touched generations, from the magic of Mary Poppins to the warmth of The Dick Van D**e Show, and even today he remains a symbol of joy, resilience, and pure showbusiness charm. PBS chose to commemorate the milestone with a documentary that gathers stories, memories, and admiration from icons who grew up inspired by him.

Behind the scenes, the presence of Jim Carrey and Carol Burnett brings something especially meaningful to the tribute. Both of them are comedic legends in their own right, yet they speak of Van D**e with the reverence of students honoring a master. Carrey has often said that Van D**e’s physical comedy shaped his own career, while Burnett remembers him as one of the kindest spirits Hollywood ever produced. Their shared gratitude paints a portrait not just of a star, but of a man who shaped the very language of comedy.

As the documentary airs, audiences get to revisit a century of talent packed into one extraordinary life. Van D**e’s legacy isn’t just longevity it’s the laughter, optimism, and heart he gave to every generation he touched. Today isn’t just a birthday. It’s a celebration of a man who made the world brighter for 100 years and continues to inspire the artists following in his footsteps.
