This is the moment that the Legislative Council Democrats voted AGAINST allowing a bill that would seek to have Maine conform to federal tax cuts for 2025.

This means that, for your Maine taxes, you will not see the increase in your standard deduction, that Maine will still tax your tips and your overtime, that our seniors will not get the enhanced senior deduction and that you will receive no deduction for interest on your auto loan.

Do you know why they won’t give you any of these tax cuts?? Because they know that without overtaxing you they can’t afford the socialist programs that they have put into place and that they still plan on putting into place this session.

Over 450,000 people are on Mainecare, we subsidize corporate solar farms, and we give out free needles and YOU are the bank for all of them.

As the cost of housing rises, Maine is not tracking the median age of first-time homebuyers.

The best we have is national data: "Each year, the National Association of Realtors publishes the median age of first-time homebuyers nationwide. This year, the median age reached 40 — the highest since the organization began tracking the metric in 1981."

While it would be nice to have precise data tracking the median age in our state, I am also curious about the anecdotal impact... meaning, how this impacts YOU in your community. So, if you are willing to share, comment below with the following:

1. Your age as a first time homebuyer
2. Cost of your first home
3. Impact of current home prices on those in your circle looking to purchase for the first time
