Tri-City Record The Tri-City Record was established as the Weekly Record in 1882. There is an original copy of the paper, datelined... Vol II Friday, September 23, 1883.

The name was changed to the Watervliet Record by publisher/editor A.N. Woodruff in 1890. The newspaper's name was changed to the Tri-City Record by publishers Anne and Karl Bayer in October 1984. The Bayer's purchased the paper from Gordon and Joan Banasik in Feb. 1984. The Banasiks bought the paper from Winifred Case, widow of Francis, in 1959. The Case family owned and operated the Record for 68 years. Up to the Bayer's ownership the Watervliet Record was also a job printing shop.

STUDENTS OF THE MONTH… selected by staff at Coloma Intermediate School for their individual contributions to the classroom, being positive role models, and being hard workers during the month of November were celebrated on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025. Students receiving certificates were Fourth graders: Nevaeh Caldwell, Jaxen Coates, Jacob Derrick, Paislee Woodall and Fifth graders: Audra Bookout, Harlee Erb, Grace Karrels, Annabelle Pudell.

HEADED TO NORTHWOOD UNIVERSITY… Lylah Hyska, All State Honorable Mention softball standout signed to continue her academic and athletic career at Northwood University. Northwood University is a Division II private university located in Midland, Michigan, specializing in business.

Hyska lead the Coloma varsity softball team in batting average, RBIs and home runs in the 2025 varsity high school season. She plans to major in finance and pursue a BBA/ MBA in her four years at Northwood.
