Tri-City Record The Tri-City Record was established as the Weekly Record in 1882. There is an original copy of the paper, datelined... Vol II Friday, September 23, 1883.

The name was changed to the Watervliet Record by publisher/editor A.N. Woodruff in 1890. The newspaper's name was changed to the Tri-City Record by publishers Anne and Karl Bayer in October 1984. The Bayer's purchased the paper from Gordon and Joan Banasik in Feb. 1984. The Banasiks bought the paper from Winifred Case, widow of Francis, in 1959. The Case family owned and operated the Record for 68 years. Up to the Bayer's ownership the Watervliet Record was also a job printing shop.

This spiritual submission will replace Spiritual Compass Points which was written by Pastor David Helms of Plymouth Congregational Church in Watervliet, until his passing in March 2025.

The Watervliet All Class Reunion will meet Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025. Social hour begins at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at noon. The Watervliet Public Schools will once again host the event. However, due to construction, the exact location is unknown at this time. The festivities will either be in the high school cafeteria or in the middle school gymnasium.

12U PANTHERS… The Watervliet Pony All Star team played in six tournaments during the 2025 season, taking the championship at Coloma, Paw Paw and Hartford. They played a diversity of teams, including travel teams; outscoring their opponents 216-125 with 19 wins and 7 losses. As a team they collected 193 hits and 89 walks, and making every tournament interesting with 22 home runs. The team collectively batted .383 avg. and had an OBP of .489. It is reported they represented Watervliet with grace, pride, and fantastic sportsmanship every game. Players are Mason Spear, Mason Palmer, Kobe Dew, Jaxon Cearlock, Tyler Marshall, Carter Schlipp, Ryder Tremblay, Luke Paris, Brody Rhinehart, Bryson Rhinehart, Brysen James and Caleb Guajardo. Watervliet Public Schools Board of Education held a special meeting Monday, July 23, 2025, to interview candidates for both the interim superintendent position and the Board of Education candidates. The full board was in attendance.
