Thunderfoot Studio opened its doors one year ago today on September 1, 2025. Over the last 365 days, weā€™ve experienced many highs, a few lows (letā€™s pretend that whole broken light wall incident never happened, mkay?), and a lot of fun.

Our one-year anniversary is September 1, and we want to say THANK YOU to our local Athens / Watkinsville community for supporting us, for sharing your creativity and vision, and for having FUN with us!

We love the smell of celluloid in the morning! šŸ‘ƒšŸŽ„

Athens Film Festival kicked off last night, and we were there to enjoy the red carpet. We caught up with industry professionals, previous collaborators, and some of Alissa Huelsman-Bellā€™s EMST friends (shout out to Grady College Of Journalism - GO DAWGS!). What an evening! And that was just the beginning.

Weā€™ll be hanging out at Creature Comforts Brewing Co. today from 3 - 6 pm. Stop by, grab a beer šŸŗ, and say hello. Then at 7 pm, Thunderfoot will sponsor the Women in Film block at Morton Theatre. You donā€™t want to miss this.

Itā€™s not too late to join the fun. Grab your ticket now and come on down to the biggest, bestest film party around! šŸ˜Ž

Athens Film Festival kicked off with a bang at CinĆ© Athens last night, and we were there to enjoy the red carpet. In recognition of Labor Day, we are cancelling our regularly scheduled first-Monday-of-the-month meeting for September 7...

In recognition of Labor Day, we are cancelling our regularly scheduled first-Monday-of-the-month meeting for September 7 and switching it to this Monday, August 31 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.

If you haven't been to a meeting in a while (or ever!), this would be a great one to attend. We'll cold read the rough draft of our second Thunderfoot Studio Stomp and talk about roles we'll need to fill for production.

Stomp #2 will be PAID. We don't have a big budget, but we want to acknowledge the amazing effort folks put in to make these shorts possible.

Finally, if you have 5-7 formatted pages that you'd like the group to cold read at Monday's meeting, please forward them to [email protected] (don't forget the dash) no later than 3 pm on Monday, August 31.

Tempest Pointe is an experimental, mixed-media horror series that combines film and theatreā€”both completely improvisedā€”in one captivating story. It follows a group of students who are caught up in a battle of mind, body, themselves, and each other.

We hosted the first two episodes live at Thunderfoot and loved it! Now Take This! Theatre needs your help to bring the rest of the series to life. Only 3 days left to reach their goal. Every little bit helps! ā¤ļø
