Big News! 🎉

We’re thrilled to announce that Barbie Boy, directed by the talented Remi Gabriel, has been selected for the Los Angeles Indie Shorts Fest - November 2024 Edition!

This heartfelt film follows a young man as he navigates his relationship with his abuela, revealing a deeply personal piece of himself he’s been hesitant to share. It’s a touching story that challenges us to rethink the role of masculinity within our comunidad.

Congratulations to the amazing cast and crew who brought this beautiful vision to life. We are so proud of this team and can’t wait to share it with the world. 💖🎥

Our feature film follows a ride-share driver emboldened by the word of God to cast judgment and take matters into his own hands. Filmed right here in Watsonville, Salinas, and Moss Landing, the story explores the consequences of power and conviction in an unforgiving world.

A heartfelt thank you to Insurgence for supporting this project, to our executive producers, and to the incredible cast and crew for bringing Director Oscar Ramos’ vision to life.

Casting Call for “Bed Time”

We’re excited to announce the casting call for our next film, Bed Time, written and directed by Genevieve Rico. Check out the character roles below and email our casting director, Georgina Otvos, if you’re interested in auditioning.

Location: Watsonville, CA

Roles Available:

1. Santi (Son)
Santi, short for Santiago, is a joyful 6-year-old who loves to play with his toys and spend time with his dad. He shares a close bond with his father and misses his late mother deeply. His imagination helps him cope with the loss, but it also makes him vulnerable to the dark entities lurking in his home. Santi is a blend of his father’s resilience and his mother’s warmth.
2. Mateo (Father)
Mateo, in his early to mid-40s, works tirelessly as a construction worker to provide for his son, Santi. After the loss of his wife, Natalya, Mateo struggles with deep guilt and grief. Despite his love for his son, he often feels like he is failing him due to exhaustion and the weight of his emotions. He is a man trying to balance his responsibilities while being haunted by personal demons.

Requirements:

• Must be available for all production dates.
• Non-union.

We’re thrilled to announce the premiere of Episode 1 of “What Happened?”—our student-created mini-series! The first episode, “The Note,” featuring the talented Julio Gonzalez, will debut on October 11!

📖 Logline: The series follows students who find a mysterious note warning them not to open it. But just as curiosity killed the cat, the temptation to open the note takes over… What happens next will keep you on the edge of your seat!
