Built in 1848 by Lewis Todd, a local carpenter and friend of Justus Bangs, Lakeside Inn began operating. In the early days it operated as a stagecoach stop and inn. Though the name and the owners have changed many times, the building still proudly stands, and will soon be The Grand Social House & Tavern in 2026!

Watch for details as this image will be featured in the Wauconda Township Historical Society 2025 ornament. Watch for upcoming details!

WATCH OUT!!!

Starting Wednesday, July 2nd, there will be daily road closures on Slocum Lake Road from Brown Street to Osage Street. This section of road will be closed 7AM to 5PM - with the exception of July 3rd, which will be closed from 7AM to 3PM. This will allow construction crews to install a storm sewer for the Bangs Lake Outfall Project. Residents will have access to their homes and signs will be posted stating "no thru traffic" in this area. Work will conclude by Friday, July 11th. Thank you to everyone for your patience while the Village makes these improvements!

What a night!!!
