48th St. N, between Washington St. and State Highway 54, will be closed to through traffic due to a culvert replacement by the Town of Grand Rapids, beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, May 18 and is expected to re-open at 3 p.m. Friday, May 22. Traffic will be detoured from 48th St. N, then onto Washington St. then onto State Highway 54.

The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) invites community members to attend an “Energy in Your Township” educational presentation on Thursday, April 30 from 5:30-7 p.m. at B’s Tap House at Two Doors Down Brewing Co.

This free event will address the proposed data center in Wisconsin Rapids, share information on how the electric grid works and how it impacts residents, and provide resources for residents to make informed decisions about the future of energy in their community.

Lane closure is expected in the outside (right) eastbound lane of East Riverview Expressway, between 8th St. S and 16th St. S, due to tree stump removals by the City of Wisconsin Rapids, beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 30, and is expected to re-open at 3 p.m. the same day. Traffic will be shifted to the inside (left) eastbound lane of East Riverview Expressway.

16th St. S, between Lily Lane and East Riverview Expressway, will be closed to through traffic due to a sanitary repair by the City of Wisconsin Rapids, beginning at 6 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, April 10 and is expected to re-open at 3 p.m. the same day. The 16th St. S road construction project will begin on Wednesday, April 8. 16th St. will be closed between Peach St. and Oak St. for approximately 10 weeks. 16th St. N, between Oak St. and Saratoga St., will be closed to through traffic due a sanitary repair by the City of Wisconsin Rapids, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, and is expected to re-open at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18. Wood County is closing all snowmobile trails effective Wednesday, Feb. 11 due to deteriorating conditions.

Powers Bluff ski and tube hills are open this weekend and the hills are in good shape. The multi-use trail is open for cross country skiing, snowshoeing and biking. Current trail conditions for the single-track bike trail can be found at www.trailbot.com, or on the trailbot app.

The Nepco Lake County Park multi-use and cross-country ski trails are open, but conditions are deteriorating with warmer weather. The Richfield 360 County Forest multi-use trails are also open but experiencing deteriorating conditions.

County Trail maps can be accessed on the Wood County Parks and Forestry Department website. Check www.woodcountywi.gov/departments/parks/, their Facebook and Instagram pages or Travel Wisconsin for updated opening and closing information.

Wood County offers visitors a variety of activities at any of our 7 recreational parks, 3 rivers, many lakes, 38,000 acres of county forest land, and 18,500 acres of Wood County State Wildlife Area.

Lane closure will occur in the northbound lane of 16th St. S between East Riverview Expressway and Daly Ave. due to a gas service installation by We Energies, beginning at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 4 and expected to re-open at 2 p.m. the same day. The southbound lane of 16th St. S will remain open. Northbound traffic on 16th St. S, will be detoured onto East Riverview Expressway, then onto 12th St. S, then onto Chestnut St., then back onto 16th St. S.
