Waushara Argus The Waushara Argus is published weekly on Thursdays, and the Central Wisconsin Resorter is published weekly on Tuesdays.

We are located in the heart of Wisconsin, in Wautoma. Serving Waushara County since 1859, the Waushara Argus is a County Seat weekly newspaper published on Thursdays in broadsheet format. The Argus provides readers with an in-depth look into local issues, interesting people, county board news, and high school sports. Almond-Bancroft Lady Eagles and Wild Rose Ladycats faced off in the Sectional Semifinal hosted in Almond-Bancroft on June 2. The Lady Eagles took the 13-0 win in five innings. On May 23, the Saxeville Historical Society held a grand opening for their new museum that has a variety of local historical items on display. ​The public plan for 2026 includes the grand opening that took place over Memorial Day weekend, with additional openings for the Saxeville Chicken BBQ on July 11 and for Labor Day weekend on Saturday, Sept. 5. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Village of Redgranite announced yesterday afternoon (May 29, 2026) that the Redgranite Quarry will be closed for any recreational use until further notice. The Redgranite Quarry page has noted that rules and village ordinances have not been followed, leading to the decision to close the park until the village finds a solution. Anyone caught on the park’s property will be issued a $263.50 fine during this time.

The community of Coloma will be starting a comfort station at the Coloma Community Center. Several organizations in the community, including the Lions Club and the Prince of Peace WELCA, will be donating hygiene items that can be taken free of charge from the cabinet. There are no income requirements to take items from the comfort station. If you are in need, the items are there.

Behind the scenes of the Fish Lake Festival, Hancock Park Restoration Inc. (HPR Inc) has raised nearly $20,000 in donations since incorporating in February 2024 to reinvest in the heart of its mission: Fish Lake Park.
New this year, a self-serve, simple to use kayak rental kiosk was installed at the beach area.
HPR will host its fourth annual Fish Lake Festival fundraiser on the first Saturday in June. This year, it will be held Saturday, June 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
