We encourage you to use the devotion included as you bake and decorate Christmas cookies as a family. This will be a great opportunity to make a heavenly deposit in your child about the Reason for the season!

Our scripture this month is on 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. As we talked about being thankful, they had to transfer as many things (with chop sticks) from their “plates of thankfulness” as they could before time was up.

There was a hidden thing under all of the snacks that no one happened to notice… SPRINKLES!

The big pieces like popcorn and pretzels represented the obvious things we’re grateful for: God, family, friends.

The sprinkles represented the things that are not as noticeable in our lives.

Sometimes we have to search a little deeper to give thanks for things we take for granted.

Don’t miss the sprinkles in your life this week!

This morning, we talked about Jacob & Esau and how we can either trust God or try and do things on our own like Jacob did when he tricked Isaac into giving him the blessing.

God’s plan is always best! At the end of service, I noticed Briella writing her own note as a reminder to listen to God’s plan!

It’s been said, “It’s easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”

At Refuge, we don’t take kids ministry lightly and we will not be nonchalant in our mission to lead them to Jesus.

This month, we are discussing how HE MAKES ALL THINGS NEW. The darkness in this world may be apparent, but we have an opportunity to raise children in the light and love of Jesus so they can impact His Kingdom for eternity!

Hey, parents! As you’re heading to Refuge Church in the morning, let’s start a conversation: God speaks to us through His Word.
We know the Bible is God’s Word, but when we believe and apply it to our lives, how does it change the way we live?

As you drive, you have a captive audience. Take a moment to chat with your kids: Do you hear God speaking to you when you read the Bible? Why is reading the Bible important?
Let’s take time to read God’s Word and listen to God as we read. He is ready to speak to us!

Also...REMINDER: Tomorrow is the Kidz Cave store! We have been collecting points each week for attendance, offering, and remembering the Faith Point for the previous week. This week, they can redeem their points for something fun!

Today, we talked about OBEYing God’s Word because it will never lead us in the wrong direction.
A simple game of Red Light, Green Light (& Yellow Light) was a reminder of how we are to obey when God says, “Go!”, “Stop!” or “Be careful.”

The Faith Point for them to remember next week is: “I will obey God’s Word.”
