Each week, we shine a light on a teacher who exemplifies the district’s core values: Belonging, Opportunity, and Achievement—inspiring students, supporting colleagues, and making a difference every day.

This week’s KWAY Teacher of the Week is Kacy Lee, First-Grade Teacher at Prairie West Elementary!

Kacy Lee is recognized for her extraordinary dedication and for making learning an immersive adventure for her first graders.

Kacy received multiple nominations from both colleagues and parents, all praising her warm and supportive classroom. One parent specifically noted how Mrs. Lee brings learning to life—having students wear hospital gear to learn about the human body, sample foods from different countries, and even design their own planets.

They wrote: “She engages students in a variety of ways and lives out the WSR mission of making sure everyone belongs, grows, and succeeds.”

Kacy combines this hands-on fun with high expectations, ensuring every student has the Opportunity to connect with the material and the support they need to Grow.

Wartburg Football might need your help:

The current forecast calls for snow this weekend, and if it comes before the Wartburg football game versus Wheaton at noon, we will need volunteers at 7 a.m. to clear the stadium.
