In 1982, Captain Theresa Claiborne made history as the first woman to fly in the United States Air Force at just 22 years old. After 43 years of flying and more than 30 years with United Airlines, she’s taken her last flight.
On May 23, Captain Claiborne landed her final flight at Newark Liberty International Airport, marking the end of an incredible journey and the beginning of a legacy that will inspire future generations.
Looking back on her amazing career, Captain Claiborne said, “It’s time for me to park the brakes for the final time on a big airplane.” Surrounded by family and friends, she said goodbye to a career full of memories and achievements.
