Halloween: Chester County Man Accused of Holding Teens at Gunpoint on Halloween
CHESTER COUNTY – Halloween tricks led to a man being jailed on multiple assault charges after he was accused of holding teens at gunpoint and firing a “warning shot.”
According to court documents, Jason Stanley, of 405 Fox Run Cove, Henderson, TN, called law enforcement on Halloween night to report a vandalism.
Stanley reportedly told officers that his property had been egged and toilet-papered in the past. He said he saw two trucks pass his home on a dead-end road and became suspicious, believing the occupants were all males.
At some point, he heard voices and said he fired a shot from a handgun into his yard. He then saw three individuals and ordered them to lie down in his driveway. He reportedly saw others nearby and told them to come out, which they did. Stanley told law enforcement that he recognized “two of the boys.”
One of the victims called his mother, and Stanley called the father of another. The report states that Stanley told the father he was armed but allowed the teens to leave. Stanley denied pointing a gun at anyone during the incident. Four of the victims were minors, while two were 18 years old.
A victim’s statement says that Stanley was standing in the road with a gun and threatened to shoot the truck as they started to leave after hearing gunshots. The victim went on to say that Stanley ordered them out of the vehicle, told them to get on their knees, and held a gun at one teen’s head for the “majority” of the time.
One of the victims said they were made to pick up toilet paper while Stanley held one of the teens at gunpoint. They told police they feared for their lives.
In a statement on November 3, 2025, Stanley told police he fired the gun to scare the group but denied having the gun with him when he confronted the teens.
The investigator stated that, due to conflicting statements about the presence of the weapon and the victims’ fear for their lives, Stanley was charged with six counts of Aggravated Assault.
