Twenty-six years ago, Western Bloodstock began with two horsemen, a handshake, and a belief in what this industry could become.

Today, that legacy grows.

We are proud to announce that Matt Miller, Tarin Rice, and Kody Porterfield have officially joined Western Bloodstock in partnership with Jeremy and Candace Barwick, bringing together some of the most respected horsemen in the performance horse business under one banner.

The name isn’t changing. The sales aren’t changing. The handshake still means what it’s always meant. What’s changing is the strength behind it, more experienced horsemen at the table, more eyes on every horse, and more resources for the customers who trust us with their horses and their futures.

“When Ben Emison and Milt Bradford handed me the reins, they handed me a responsibility: take care of the horse, take care of the people, and never forget who this business is really for,” said Jeremy Barwick. “Matt, Tarin, and Kody live those same values every single day.

This isn’t about getting bigger. It’s about getting better for the people we serve.”

“I’ve spent my whole career in the show pen, but the sale ring is where a horse’s next chapter begins,” said Matt Miller. “When someone hands you a horse they’ve poured their heart into, that’s sacred trust. I’m honored to bring that same commitment to the Western Bloodstock family.”

Congratulations to Western Bloodstock Kutless (Dual Reyish x Peptos Stylish Sue, by Peptos Stylish Oak) and Colton Cogdell on their Reserve Champion title in the Intermediate Amateur Derby at the West Texas Futurity.

Purchased by the Cogdells at the 2023 NCHA Futurity Sales as a yearling.

Originally sold through the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales in 2023. The next one could be in this year’s catalog. Consignments for the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales close tomorrow, August 20.
