SAVING & RESTORING OLD RECORDINGS-

More historic recordings are surfacing every few weeks and are brought to Acoustic Audio for transfer and transformation. Digital transfer is only the beginning.
Almost every old recording that I transfer was made a long time ago on the limited recording equipment available at that time. Old recordings sound distant and muddy, lacking clarity and definition; in most cases, the equipment used to make the original recordings was cheap or severely limited by the technology of the era.

But here’s the amazing thing; after years of experimentation and experience, I can apply state-of-the-art digital software and sophisticated audio mastering technologies to enhance specific frequencies and remove others, resulting in remarkable clarity and details.
Distant muted voices become easily understood as if you were sitting next to them.
Hidden details in music are revealed to an often astonishing degree; suddenly you can hear details no one has heard since the musicians played it.

I always save the transferred recordings exactly as they actually sound, then do restorations; once clients compare the difference, they never listen to the original transfer again; the restorations are so dramatically better, it’s a pleasure to hear them.
Every recording I work on is one-of-a-kind, and I treat each one like it was my own.

A SPIRITUAL VOICE FROM THE PAST:
Recently a famous philosopher from the revolutionary free thinking 1970s passed away, someone who was a significant and historic voice of change for a generation of people.
I have been contacted about a tape reel archive of many hours of recordings, to transfer and restore the thoughts and teachings of this individual, and preserve the audio of his words and thoughts for future generations.
While I have done hundreds of remarkable projects of music and spoken word, this new project seems unique in its historical context and impact on a generation of young people that in turn helped change the world.
Recordings are pieces of time, captured and saved for the future; listeners are able to revisit the past like time travelers and experience what happened years, even lifetimes ago.
So make recordings and leave messages and history for the future; it is a form of immortal communication. Be here now, but leave your pieces of history recorded for tomorrow.
And that’s why I do what I do at Acoustic Audio Recording and Transfer.
