Ellsworth Receives $6,000 Grant to Support Community Comprehensive Plan

The City of Ellsworth has been awarded a $6,000 Ripple Effect grant from Ellsworth Cooperative Telephone Association (ECTA) and Aureon to support the development of a new Comprehensive Plan that will guide the community’s growth and development over the next decade. The Jewell City Council met for the final time in 2025 last Monday evening. It's a sad day at KQWC Radio. Today marks the last day of playing your holiday favorites for another year. Since Thanksgiving Day we have been playing the favorites of the Christmas season which we hoped you enjoyed. A big thank you goes out to the many callers Christmas morning with your Christmas requests and with Pat Powers as your host. We will have it again next Christmas morning in 2026. We will put away the Christmas songs for another year at midnight tonight and back to the regular pop songs on KQWC FM 95.7 early tomorrow (Saturday) morning after midnight. THANKS for enjoying the sounds of Christmas on the radio this season. By the way....would you like a weekend of Christmas music next summer? Let us know and think about Christmas in July! Enjoy your weekend!

It's the forecast that does not want to change! Dense fog continues to envelop the Webster City and Hamilton County on this early Friday morning at 3:15 a.m. with 33 degrees after a Christmas day high reading of 35 degrees on Radio Hill...and all the fog! The cloudy conditions will be in the Friday forecast with a high in the lower 40s. More clouds...and fog for your Friday night with a low in the mid 30s.. We will kick off the last weekend of 2025 tomorrow with clouds and...yup...more patchy fog. Highs in the upper 40s. Sunday will bring a slight chance of rain and snow with breezy conditions. Highs on Sunday in the mid 30s with falling temperatures by afternoon. We realize the fog will hamper the sunrise in Webster City but the sunrise time this Friday morning will be at 7:44 a.m. with the sunset time at 4:48 p.m. this afternoon. Christmas Day in Hamilton County.

The fog of Thursday did not stop the joy and the spirit of the day in Hamilton County and Webster City. Christmas Day featured well attended worship services in many churches on Christmas Eve and a few on Christmas morning. The annual Christmas dinner at the Webster City Church of Christ drew a respectable turnout yesterday. Volunteers helped deliver meals to the shut ins on Thursday in Webster City....
