David Gilmour Puts Final Nail In The Coffin Of Pink Floyd Reunion With Roger Waters
In a recent interview with ITV News, David Gilmour ended Pink Floyd reunion hopes with Roger Waters.
“I mean, it’s not going to happen,” the guitarist said. “There’s only three people left and we’re not talking and unlikely to. [Laughs] So it’s not going to happen.”

Gilmour also said last month that he thinks a Pink Floyd reunion with Waters doesn’t matter. They got back together for a few shows in the 2000s, but it didn’t work out. “It’s boring. It’s over,” the musician told Rolling Stone.

He continued, “As I said before, he left our pop group when I was in my 30s, and I’m a pretty old chap now – and the relevance of it is not there. I don’t really know his work since. So I don’t have anything to say on the topic.”
In July, a Pink Floyd fan page posted a photo of Roger and David on a FaceTime call, which led to reunion rumors. They looked friendly, but neither confirmed it officially.

“No. I’m done with it,” Gilmour revealed in 2021. “I’ve had a life in Pink Floyd for quite a lot of years, and quite a few of those years in the beginning, with Roger. And those years in what is now considered to be our heyday were 95 percent musically fulfilling and joyous and full of fun and laughter.”

He added, “And I certainly don’t want to let the other five percent color my view of what was a long and fantastic time together. But it has run its course, we are done, and it would be fakery to go back and do it again. And to do it without Rick would just be wrong.”

“I’m all for Roger doing whatever he wants to do and enjoying himself and getting the joy he must have had out of those Wall shows,” Gilmour talked about Waters. “I’m at peace with all of these things. But I absolutely don’t want to go back. I don’t want to go and play in stadiums. I’m free to do exactly what I want to do and how I want to do it.”

Earlier this year, Nick Mason talked about performing with his Pink Floyd bandmates again. He said Gilmour probably isn’t interested. He mentioned that Waters had performed with him before, but it’s unlikely they will all perform together again.
