A design I created for CNC engraving and mass producing small Plaster of Paris molds for casting various materials such as metal, silicon, resin, and concrete. This design is most ideal for making single piece jewelry or small metal parts such as gears. Plaster of Paris is poured into a special canister to make a blank mold. The blank poured mold has to be vibrated while wet so air bubbles can rise to the surface. This one was a lazy test job - it was not vibrated but tapped on the counter a few times. Once it has dried, the blank can be clamped into a certain jig and CNC engraved with a wide variety of designs. The canister then has a lid placed on it to protect it until casting can be done. Once an engraving is done a new blank can be placed in the same spot and the process can be repeated or done with a different design within the same mold margin. The logo and mold were designed in Blender and the Gcode files used to engrave on a cheap CNC 3018 machine were generated in Autodesk fusion 360.
