For Jaime, theatre began as a refuge — a place where a kid who wasn’t always accepted could suddenly shine. Later in life, after suffering a life-changing tragedy, the theater was there for him once more. After that, the work became about more than performance...

“Community building… it’s what I do.”

For Jaime, theatre is healing. It’s creating a tribe. It’s giving people something that feels like home.

“Belonging to something really can make a difference in any child’s life.”

For Melissa, dance has never just been about steps. She started as a toddler, then went on to win Miss Dance of New York State and perform professionally across the country. As much as she loved dancing, she loves teaching more. After moving to Central WA, she opened a studio, where she's giving young dancers a place to grow — not just technically, but personally.

“The kids have this feeling of accomplishment… that’s going to help them get through something.”

For Melissa, the stage is about discipline, confidence, and creating bonds that last long after the curtain closes.

Nik grew up with big expectations—pre-med, straight A’s, a clear path. But his love of music proved a louder calling, much to his parents’ chagrin. Today, Nik describes himself as “a conduit through which all these amazing things can happen.” That’s what this theater is—a conduit for belonging, excellence, and connection.

“That first laugh that I ever got… it was like — this is what I want to do.” 

For Paul, it started with a choir solo in elementary school. That spark turned into a lifetime in theatre — directing in the Valley since 1992, hands-on in rehearsal rooms, shaping performances, pushing actors to stay fully present.

“The stage is a scary place… but it feeds your soul.” 

Paul believes theatre isn’t about money. It’s about collaboration. About courage. About that electric exchange between audience and performer. Outside of family, it’s the most important part of his life.

PLT is more than a stage.

It’s a home for artists.
A training ground for courage.
A refuge.
A launchpad.

It represents what the arts can do when a community shows up — together.

But it's also a beautiful film.
