⚠️LAST NIGHT ON I-70: CAR OVERTURNS AFTER WESTBOUND CRASH — ONE DRIVER HOSPITALIZED⚠️
A violent collision on Interstate 70 west of Route K in St. Charles last night sent a 37-year-old Wright City man to the hospital after his Volkswagen Jetta was hit, forced off the roadway, and overturned, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Troopers say around 6:02 PM, a 2012 Chevy Malibu driven by a 20-year-old St. Charles woman collided with the Jetta, causing the Jetta to travel off the right side of the interstate and roll. The Jetta suffered total damage; the Malibu sustained extensive damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Superior Towing.

The injured driver was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by the St. Charles County Ambulance District. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The crash was investigated by Cpl. T. Ziegler, with assistance from Msgt. T. Jenkins and Tpr. Z. Micks.

🦃 DO YOU DISCUSS POLITICS AT THANKSGIVING?
A new Emerson College poll shows Americans agree on two big things this holiday: turkey is in, politics are out.

✔️ 75% of voters are happy with turkey
✔️ 30 million turkeys will be eaten this year
✔️ 50% want to avoid politics at dinner
✔️ Only 33% actually want to talk politics
✔️ Poll conducted Nov. 3–4, 2025 (±3%)

With tensions high in a divided country, many families want a peaceful holiday—not a political food fight.

So ITK turned to Pantsuit Politics hosts Sarah Stewart Holland & Beth Silvers for advice on surviving Thanksgiving conversations.

TOP TAKEAWAYS:
• Politics may come up—keep it light and curious.
• Avoid turning dinner into a cable-news panel.
• Instead of strict “no politics” rules, use humor to defuse tension.
• Move heated relatives to safer topics (football works wonders).
• Nobody’s switching parties over pumpkin pie—aim for understanding, not winning.
• Local issues spark healthier, more grounded conversations.
• Easy off-ramps: the price of everything, kids, or teasing a celebrity.
• Above all: people are lonely. Thanksgiving is a chance to really connect.

Remember: The goal isn’t agreement—it’s leaving the table wanting to gather again next year.

Do you talk politics at Thanksgiving? Ever had family skip the holiday because of it? 🦃🍂

I guess I’m getting old, because I just heard of “Blackout Wednesday” for the first time—and what a horrible name. Nothing about it sounds fun.

What I do know is that our local law enforcement will be out in full force, keeping our roads safe from the people (idiots) who think that kind of night is worth the risk.

Remember: a ride share is always cheaper than an attorney, a divorce, a lost job, or—most tragically—the loss of a life. I will say that Today's Sponsor is STL Traffic Law Counselors 45BUCKS.com couldn't be more fitting.

And the maps are coming out from a source that you can trust and that is usually correct. Here is the premature prediction from Hyperlocal Extreme Weather.

*** WINTER STORM LIKELY ***
Ok folks, here’s the mappy map you all have been patiently waiting for and we thank you for that. As you know, we take our time here and it’s truly because we care about being as accurate as possible. These maps go through an entire peer review and nothing gets the green light until our meteorologists and entire team agree on the most likely solution.

Well we have the green light now and to say the least, this storm is very dynamic to in regards to temperature profiles fighting each other back and forth along with the Southern Influence pumping in Warmer Surface Air while merging with the Colder Below Freezing NW Flow both at the surface and in higher altitudes.

That creates a moisture ripe environment that will certainly begin as heavy wet snow across much of our region. At the same time, the warm nose creates a mixed bag of rain and snow further south. But as we’ve mentioned, elevation is often a key role player in these situations especially over our Southern Topography. This region could see snow in higher elevations while others see little if any before it goes to just plain rain. *Further west of our region will have a sharp cutoff with more rain than snow so those West of this map please be aware!

Further north details are becoming much more clear with wet-bulbing helping rapidly cool our temperatures thanks to lower level dry air. This means that these areas will see a more prolonged period of heavy wet snow along with those big snowflakes at times. Additionally, although still a concern, given temperatures overnight are near or below freezing with highs in the Upper 30s/Low 40s out ahead of the storm, we think this will help cool the ground enough for snow to stick faster with a much shorter period of melting.

The end result as we’ve continued to state, means the primary accumulating snow should be further south as we see it. While much of the snow will accumulate on grassy and elevated surfaces, it’s entirely possible it can come down so heavy to briefly cover some area roads especially those lesser traveled and not treated also leading to some slushy spots.

For now we will not put numbers on this map until we do final adjustments after the storm is fully sampled. It is entirely possible that several areas receive 3 Inches or more of heavy, compacting wet snow especially the further north you go. Travel impacts especially North of the Missouri River can be expected especially during the morning hours on Saturday. It’s a busy holiday travel weekend so please plan accordingly and be safe!

As always, we will update you as needed and release our Expected Snow Total Graphics Tomorrow.

Have a Wonderful Day!

From the US National Weather Service Saint Louis Missouri

Confidence is increasing in wintry driving conditions north of I-70 in both Missouri and Illinois this coming Friday night into Saturday as the first winter system of the year rolls through the region. Saturday morning and afternoon are most likely to be impacted in this area. Further south there is more uncertainty in precipitation type and temperatures, both of which will impact the potential for wintry driving conditions.

“‘IT’S DEAFENING OUT HERE!’ — St. Charles County Neighbors Say Highway 364 Noise Is Taking Over Their Lives” 🚗💥

People living on Knollwood Court in St. Charles County say the roar from Highway 364 has become impossible to ignore—so loud that some neighbors have simply stopped going outside.

The problem began when the final phase of the Page Extension opened in 2014. Residents say traffic has grown, the noise has exploded, and they’re the ones paying the price.

We brought a decibel meter to compare noise levels:

🔹 Neighborhood WITH a sound wall: ~52 decibels
🔹 David Hall’s front yard—just 200 feet from 364: More than 80 decibels
(That’s about as loud as standing next to a NYC subway train.)

MoDOT declined an on-camera interview, but in an email told us they won’t redo the noise study unless 364 is widened or expanded. Increased traffic alone, they say, doesn’t trigger a new analysis. A 2013–2014 study ruled the area ineligible for a state-funded sound wall.

But neighbors say the situation has changed—and dramatically.

County Councilman Timothy Baker agrees. After spending time on Knollwood Court, he described the evening noise as “deafening,” saying homeowners often have to yell just to talk to each other.

Now Baker is pushing for the county to fund its own sound wall—an estimated $650,000 project—and says he’ll bring the idea forward as the County Council reviews its transportation plan.

MO HIGHWAY PATROL RELEASES FORMALIZED FOLLOW-UP ON LAST NIGHT’S MAJOR THREE-VEHICLE CRASH ON I-70
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has issued its formalized follow-up report on last night’s violent three-vehicle crash on westbound I-70 in St. Charles, an incident that left two drivers hospitalized and involved a dramatic rollover and multiple barrier strikes.

According to the official MSHP crash report, the collision began when a westbound pickup struck the rear of a compact car, forcing both vehicles off the right side of the roadway. The compact car hit a concrete barrier, while the pickup shot across to the left side, rolled several times, struck a cable barrier, and hit another barrier before coming to rest. A third vehicle was also impacted by debris from the crash.

MSHP states that two drivers — a 36-year-old male from Wentzville and a 43-year-old male from Silex — were transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, one with minor injuries and the other with serious injuries. A 41-year-old male driver from St. Louis was able to drive away from the scene.

The crash occurred around 8:00 PM near the 206.6 mile marker of westbound Interstate 70. Multiple agencies responded, including St. Charles County Ambulance District and Wentzville Police.
