SPEAKER PRO TEM CHAD PERKINS ON WHY POLITICS IS REALLY ABOUT SELLING YOURSELF

In this conversation, Chad Perkins breaks down a reality of politics that many people overlook: at its core, politics is about selling a product—and that product is you.

Perkins explains that campaigns are not just about policies or platforms. They are about whether voters believe the person delivering the message. If you believe in what you are saying, and you can clearly communicate that belief, you give yourself a real chance to succeed.

Judge Mike Carter steers the discussion toward the legislative grind—what it actually takes to go from an idea to a bill becoming law. While the classic “how a bill becomes a law” lesson gives a simplified version, Perkins notes that the real process is far more complicated, often involving negotiation, persistence, and behind-the-scenes deal-making.

The conversation also touches on the personal side of public service. Perkins reflects on campaigning, knocking doors, attending community dinners, and spending long stretches in Jefferson City. Rather than viewing it as a burden, he describes the process as something he genuinely enjoys—from meeting voters face-to-face to working inside the legislative system.

This discussion offers a candid look at politics beyond speeches and slogans, focusing instead on authenticity, relationship-building, and the work required to turn ideas into action.

SPEAKER PRO TEM PERKINS PULLS BACK THE CURTAIN ON JEFF CITY — IS IT REALLY A “SWAMP,” OR JUST HARD, HUMAN WORK?

In this candid exchange, Judge Mike Carter and Chad Perkins take on the popular narrative that government—particularly in Jeff City—is inherently corrupt or “swampy.” Judge Carter opens by describing what many outsiders never see: the exhausting interpersonal dynamics of politics, the shifting alliances, and the emotional toll that leads some public servants to burn out and want nothing more than to return home.

Perkins offers a grounded counterpoint drawn from firsthand experience. He rejects the idea that Jeff City is dominated by bad actors, emphasizing instead that the legislature is largely made up of ordinary, decent people from diverse backgrounds—teachers, farmers, pharmacists, and others—who come to serve, not scheme. While acknowledging that dishonesty can exist anywhere, he underscores that most legislators are not driven by nefarious motives, but by a sincere desire to contribute.

Together, the conversation reframes the “swamp” label as an oversimplification. Rather than a cesspool of corruption, Jeff City is portrayed as a complex, human environment—imperfect, political, and demanding, but largely populated by well-intentioned individuals trying to navigate a difficult system.

This clip offers an insider’s perspective on how government actually functions—and why blanket cynicism may miss the mark.

KARENS BEING KARENS? — OR SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY??? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS BEHAVIOR? Is this what YOU do?

The video shows a tense interaction between civilians and members of a federal tactical unit operating in a residential area.

In the footage, officers repeatedly warn drivers that following their vehicles, honking, and blocking their movement could result in arrest, stating that such actions interfere with their duties. The individuals involved challenge these warnings, accusing the officers of intimidation and unconstitutional behavior, and continue filming, following, and confronting them despite the warnings.

The encounter remains verbal but escalates in tension. Multiple bystanders record the interaction on their phones. A continuous car horn blares during one exchange, and civilians openly dispute whether the officers have the legal authority to issue the warnings at all.

What the video ultimately captures is a fundamental disagreement:
officers assert enforcement boundaries, while civilians contest where lawful oversight ends and interference begins.

This raises open questions for discussion:
• Is this an example of “Karen” behavior, or a form of civilian accountability?
• Where should the line be drawn between observing public officials and obstructing them?
• At what point does following, filming, and confronting cross into interference?
• Is this becoming a normalized type of public interaction?

The video does not provide clear answers — but it does highlight how sharply divided expectations have become.

Thoughts?

🚨NEW FOOTAGE FROM MN ICE INVOLVED SHOOTING! ‼️🚨
BREAKING: New point-of-view footage released shows the moment Renee Good was shot in Minneapolis in footage obtained by .

The woman in the flannel, Good’s ‘wife’, was seen taunting agents shortly before the incident.

"You want to come at us? I say you get yourself some lunch, big boy. Go ahead."

The flannel woman was seen trying to enter the car as Good began reversing.

Renee Nicole Good’s wife screams ‘drive baby, drive’ just seconds before ICE agent shoots her in dramatic footage taken from his phone.

Renee Nicole Good’s wife was antagonizing ICE agents and even urged her to “drive baby, drive” just moments before the fatal shooting in Minneapolis, according to shocking new video taken on the agent’s own cell phone.

The video — filmed by agent Jonathan Ross on Wednesday and obtained by Alpha News — shows the heated interaction between the Goods in the lead-up to the shooting.

Renee can be seen behind the driver’s seat of the plum-colored Honda Pilot, while her wife, Rebecca, stands in the street next to the car. A dog is also sitting in the back seat, peering out an open window.

As Ross records the interaction, Renee says to him, “That’s fine dude, I’m not mad at you” before her spouse starts jawing at the federal officer as whistles and sirens can be heard in the background.

“It’s OK, we don’t change our [license] plates every morning, just so you know,” Rebecca said. “It’ll be the same plate when you talk to us later, that’s fine, US citizens.”

Watch the video in its entirety. Does it change the way you feel about the situation? Do you think it implicates the ‘wife’? Let us know what you think! 💭
