Leftovers from barrel profiling. Guy wants a costom barrel for a ruger single action and brought me a 1.250 diameter rifle barrel. Takes half a day just to get it workable. Still needs some tapering, forcing cone cut, cylinder gap set and finally polished and blued. Bottom pic is the barrel rough fitted. Its chambered in .30 carbine.
Bum 22 barrel and none available? No problem, install a barrel liner....like so.

Working on a piece of history today. Two trigger groups, two broken disconnectors. Gun is all original, a papered bring back. Owner bought it in the 80s for 1800 bucks.
Latest project, almost finished.
Repairing a transferable M16 receiver. The sear pin hole is (was) crooked as a dog's hind leg and the hammer pin hole was oblong. Welding with 5356 rod and spot work hardening is the best way to go. The jig is my own design to keep the receiver in shape during the process and trust me, welding on a 20,000.00 receiver puts the pucker factor on high! Even though I've done lots of them.....it's still nerve racking.

Never attempt to drill and tap without one of these. This setup was close to a grand over 15 years ago. Beats the forstner jig, this one is 2x the length and more versatile. This is one of my favorite tools simply because of its outstanding precision.

Remington bolt knob installation. I do them my own way that's more labor intensive but I think it's worth it. First thing I do is to whack the ball off leaving a little of its base.
Used to be we bent bolt handles in a set of forging blocks. I still have the blocks but I found a source of really nice handles so I fit and silver solder on place. Here's how I do them.
Too bad that what I think is the neatest and most intricate part of the silencer is hidden inside the tube.

The stencil was applied to the uncured finish, shot with high temp paint then the entire unit cured at 550deg.
