If your a racing fan, check this out. This is a great documentary on Mark Martin following his career from his dirt track start in Batesville, Ar. to today. At the age of 7, my friend Todd and I watched Mark, he was only 15, get into a race car at Locust Grove and race against grown men. It was an inspiration for us both to drive race cars. Growing up in Batesville everyone knew who Mark was and we have been fans since. He's been a great roll model for the sport of racing. Be sure and watch this great tribute to Mark and his drive to race.

This past spring there was a gathering of Datsun/Nissan/Infiniti people in Palatka Florida. This group of like minded car crazy people that are part of Central Florida Z Club held an event called Florida Z Fest. There was a group of people that worked very hard to make this a success and we got to do something special Friday. Some people that attended may not have known that Florida Z Fest is a not for profit just like it’s big brother ZCON. What is special about these events is some of the proceeds go to selected charities in the area. Oftentimes I have donated to charities but never really knew what they represented in the community. Friday, I got to know first hand where these donations go and I was left humbled by these two groups that Central Florida Z Club had selected to benefit from the Florida Z Fest event. It is without question that UCP of Florida and Pet Alliance are two of the most deserving charities I have ever been involved with. UCP of Central Florida is changing the lives of children in the community and Pet Alliance is caring for our animals when they need it most. We got to learn about the amazing things these two non profit organizations get to do on a daily basis and I was speechless. There are volunteer programs that you can get involved in to help these folks do what they do best and that is caring about others. Please take a moment and check out these organizations. The car community can be very special and its days like yesterday that makes me proud to be a part of that group. I look forward to next year raising more money for these well deserved charities.
