June 24, 2024, just after we laid down in bed we heard a loud cracking noise and our house shook. We could feel it and hear it a mile away. The sirens erupted and we quickly learned the steeple of our church was struck by lightning and on fire. We could see it from our house so we watched, as the fire department tried to control it.

Our church reopened this year and the remodel is beautiful but there is still construction happening and the new steeple is still being built.

Last week we had the chance to sign the steeple! Our names are written on the framing and will rise with it.

Even when things are tough, God's timing and blessings are perfect. 🙏😇

Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago I only saw a farm animal if I went to the Zoo or drove an hour outside of town.

My Dad managed a large chain grocery store so naturally, our food came from the grocery store.

After moving to Madison and vowing to never live in a small town, I broke those vows and made some new ones with a small town Wisconsin POPCORN Farmer. You can imagine my mind was blown 🤯 when I started to see 1st hand how we get our food.

Fast forward to now, my whole world revolves around knowing where our food comes from but also how our bodies react to it when it’s consumed.

I love that I get to share this passion with the next generation by volunteering at events like Ag Discovery Day at where we welcomed 1000+ students and 140+ teachers/chaperones to Wisconsin State Fair Park for a day of hands-on agriculture learning.

My station… Herb-tastic Patio Gardening for the 2nd year in a row 🪴 and I love it!
