🏌️‍♂️ Ethan Mukhtar: A Rising Star in Golf

Meet Ethan Mukhtar — a Chaldean‑American golfer from Farmington Hills who’s already making history. As a 2025 graduate of Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, Ethan was a four‑year varsity letterwinner and a standout on the team that won their first ever MHSAA Division 2 state championship in 2024. His unforgettable chip‑in on the 17th hole during the final round clinched the win by just one stroke over Grand Rapids Christian.

Now a freshman at Wayne State University, Ethan continues to chase his dreams — competing on the men’s golf team, sharpening his skills, and maintaining a solid 4.5 handicap.

We’ll be cheering him on as he climbs higher — stay tuned for more updates on his journey! 🙌 Read more here: https://loom.ly/Bv9UaCg

🍲📚 From Kitchen to Classroom — New Ways CCF West Is Strengthening Our Community

The Chaldean Community Foundation West (CCF West) just announced a rich lineup of new programs designed to bring generations together, preserve our heritage, and support everyone from seniors to children.

Highlights include:
- Intergenerational cooking classes in Nana Bernadette Sarafa’s Kitchen — making traditional dishes like takhratha, biryani, dolma, kubba, and more, while building connection and fun together.
- Language classes: Sureth for ages 8‑15, Arabic for adults — starting this month.
- Senior‑focused programs: gentle fitness, wellness classes, memory cafés, caregiver resources & more.
- New family events & cultural workshops to celebrate Chaldean identity

“Every generation—from seniors seeking companionship to kids discovering new skills—finds something meaningful here.” That’s the heart of the vision.

Let’s come together to attend, volunteer, and support this beautiful growth in our community! ❤️

✨ A Dream Fulfilled in Calgary! ✨

After decades of prayer, hope, and sacrifice, the Chaldean Catholic community in Calgary has opened the doors to their own church: St. John the Apostle Chaldean Catholic Church was consecrated on June 18, 2025, on the Feast of St. Ephrem — a date bursting with deeper meaning.

This milestone was made possible by the tireless dedication of Fr. John Jwad, the generosity of families, donors, and volunteers—over 300 Chaldean families, plus guests from across Canada and the U.S. came together to build not just a building, but a home.

From the fundraising of more than $1 million in the first year, to restoring the walls and filling every corner with love, faith, and community — this church is their symbol of belonging, resilience, and identity.

🌿✨ From brokenness comes beauty.

Detroit’s new nonprofit early childhood center, Kintsugi Village, opens this October in historic Corktown—blending learning with art, food, nature, and community connection. Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, the school turns cracks into strength, teaching children to grow, explore, and thrive.

Founders Hamsa Yaqo and Paul Spiegelman are creating a living ecosystem for kids and families—where curiosity, creativity, and community come first. From gardening and cooking to artist residencies and wellness retreats, every part of Kintsugi nurtures the whole child.
