📣 Exciting news for our Chaldean community in Metro Detroit!

The Chaldean Community Foundation West (CCF West) in West Bloomfield has launched new Chaldean (Sureth) language classes for teens aged 13–19. Led by dedicated instructors Michael Antoon and Patrick Kakos, these classes aim to reconnect our youth with their heritage through language. Students are actively engaging in conversations, even practicing with family members at home.

This initiative is part of CCF West's broader mission to preserve Chaldean culture. The program utilizes the "Let’s Learn How to Speak Chaldean" curriculum, originally developed by Shamasha Khairy Foumia and published by the Chaldean Diocese of St. Thomas the Apostle.

Classes are held at the new CCF West facility located at 2075 Walnut Lake Road in West Bloomfield. While the teens in this class have graduated, stay tuned for future opportunities to enroll. For more information on upcoming programs, contact Farah Shammami at [email protected].

Let's celebrate and support this wonderful effort to keep our language and culture alive! Read more about this initiative here: https://loom.ly/u8nM0C0 and view a longer video here: https://loom.ly/p5u97KY.

A new Syriac language course has launched in Baghdede (Qaraqosh), honoring the memory of martyrs Zuhair and Louay and aiming to preserve the Syriac language as a living, spoken tradition.

Held twice weekly by the local committee and the Education Foundation, the course has welcomed 26 eager participants. The opening session included a moment of silence for the martyrs of the Bethnahrin National Council, the victims of the Al-Kut fire, and all who gave their lives for the Chaldean–Syriac–Assyrian cause.

Instructors emphasized the power of language to connect us with our heritage and identity—while young people from across the region also gathered for a joyful cultural outing at Bndwaya Resort.
