Food Fight brought together chefs, restaurants, and food lovers from across the South Shore for one incredible cause — supporting South Shore Food Bank and its mission to build a community empowered.
Hosted and supported by celebrity Chef Stephen Coe winner of Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay, the event welcomed more than 500 guests, 30 vendors, and 15 chefs for a high-energy culinary competition with a meaningful twist: participants “shopped” the Feed the Wey mobile pantry — stocked just as it would be for neighbors — to choose their ingredients and craft their dishes.
The bus, normally used to bring food access directly into local communities, served as a symbol of what’s possible when innovation meets collaboration.
Through its Food Rescue Program, South Shore Food Bank partners with local grocers to give high-quality surplus food a second chance — rescuing nearly 216,000 lbs in 2023, thanks in part to a $350,000 grant from the Gersner Foundation.
More than a food bank, SSFB is building a connected, collaborative network where waste becomes nourishment and every neighbor has enough.
