THE RICH PEOPLE THE DEMS WON’T DENIGRATE
The Party of Envy and Resentment - the Democrat Socialists led by AOC, Bernie Sanders and Mayor Mamdani – rails against corporate billionaires like Jeff Bezos –as part of their propaganda effort to twist the minds of those who don’t understand economics or taxes – to hate wealthy and successful people – especially if they are white men. What you will not hear from the anti-capitalist/socialists (most of whom are quite wealthy themselves) are rants against uber-wealthy athletes. Forbes just published a list of the top earners from the sports world in 2025
Soccer legend Christiano Ronaldo led the list with $300 million earned in 2025 from play on the field and his off-field earnings; Boxer Carlos Alvarez was a distant second with combined earnings of $170 million. LA Lakers Basketball star LeBron James was fourth on the list - taking in $137.8 million and in 5th place is LA Dodgers phenom Shohei Otani, who hauled in $127. 6 million followed by NBA basketball player Stephan Curry, who took in $124.7 million
No one in the top 50 of sports earning sports stars made less than $54 million in 2025. I imagine even for wealthy, capitalist-hating leftist Democrats, that’s too much money for one person to have ( except for them and their backers, like George Soros ( 2025 net worth of $7.2 billion or Democrat Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker who has an estimated net worth of approximately $3.7 billion, )
Why are the “selfish athletes” not tarred and feathered with the same brush leftists used to slime corporate millionaires and billionaires? And how does the Forbes list damage AOC’s irrational claim that “no one can make a billion dollars” – without mistreating employees and consumers.
One reason why leftists give a pass to athletes is that many of them are minorities: black or Latino or of mixed race, or women. It’s easier to bash the little-known white guy whose busy innovating and creating jobs for others….than it is to bash LeBron James, who is adored by millions. Fame cancels net worth, I suppose.
How much do these athletes pay in taxes? Are they paying their fair share, as defined by bombastic Bernie and his protegee – the economically ignorant mayor of NYC – or AOC – who somehow graduated college – and got elected to the House, knowing nothing about economics – or working people?
Oh well.

The Trenton Democrats and Gov Sherrill’s administration are finally waking up to the reality that Gov. Murphy’s ego driven idea to host the World Cup – and put his wife in charge of the host committee was a terrible idea financially. Now the state is scrambling to offset the huge costs of an event that will NOT bring in anywhere near the projected revenue that FIFA and the Murphy administration promised. One bad idea follows another in NJ. The first bad idea was playing hose to the Cup and then negotiating a very bad deal for the state taxpayers. The second bad idea is to temporarily raise sales taxes… there is no such thing as a temporary tax in the Garden State. If sales taxes were an issue why did Murphy agree to FIFA demands that there be no sales tax on tickets for the soccer games in MetLife Stadium. By a rough calculation, that will cost the state more than $5 million in revenue for each game played in the Meadowlands. How desperate was Murphy to host this extravaganza for his millionaire buddies….they are the only ones who can afford to go. Where is Murphy now ? And Mrs. Murphy?

Stupidity of the highest order, allowing 16 and 17 year olds, who have virtually no fiscal responsibility and little knowledge of how government works – to cast crucial votes in local elections. We know this is a ploy by the NJEA to allow brainwashed kids to vote the way their teacher tell them too. -- which is always more school spending. And before long 16 and 17 year old kids will be voting in presidential elections, and county elections. Disaster. Bring the school board elections back to April and let everyone vote on them ... the NJEA will fight it, but it is a fight worth having

Momentum is building in some quarters to allow 16 and 17-year-olds to vote in school board and other local elections.

Glad to see that the Times and its writers are toning down the incendiary rhetoric on Trump and the presidential campaign. What a joke. Did anyone notice how quickly the liberal news outlets were to blame social media for the attempted assassination of Trump - but omitted themselves as a cause for political violence? Judge Aileen Cannon ruled that the entire case should be thrown out because the appointment of the special counsel who brought the case, Jack Smith, had violated the Constitution. Her decision is sure to be appealed.

They actually wrote:
Mr. Biden has been an admirable president. Under his leadership, the nation has prospered and begun to address a range of long-term challenges, and the wounds ripped open by Mr. Trump have begun to heal.
the editorial writers need to get out of their Manhattan cocoon.

The president’s inadequate performance in the debate made it clear he is not the man he was four years ago.

If he was ever elected he would bankrupt the state – which is pretty much what Murphy is trying to do.
We need a federal law prohibiting labor unions from donating to political candidates. Those aren’t donations they are bribes for votes.
Either outlaw the contributions or make it mandatory that every public contract be put up for a vote of the people via a referendum…

Very early on June 6, 1944, 18, 772 American soldiers landed in Normandy, France on beaches code named Omaha and Utah. British and other Allied troops hit the beaches named Sword & Juno.
In the pre-dawn darkness, anther 18,000 US paratroopers were dropped behind enemy lines. Back home, in small American towns and large ones, people filled churches and halls and factories to pray for their boys.
Of the 4,572 Allied soldiers killed on D-Day, 2,500 of them were Americans They fought to free Europe from one of the deadliest, most maniacal regimes in human history. We still commemorate June 6, 1944 because we cannot possibly ignore such bravery and sacrifice from our fellow Americans.
There is a certain politician who has been going around the past few years saying her wants to Make America Great Again. There is an army of his detractors who ridicule him and his followers by derisively asking, “when was America great.”
The answer is many times, but at no time was America greater than on June 6, 1944.
