When Elijah Hand moved to Orlando he brought embalming with him, giving families a chance to preserve the bodies of their loved ones long enough to give those wanting to pay their respects time to attend wakes and funerals. The second floor of this building used to house those bodies while the parlor occupied the first floor.
Today it's a night club and bar, but spirits on the second floor - that of a woman and of a young boy - are said to still be there, keeping a watchful eye on this historic building.
This funeral home is across the street from the Carey Hand Building, which was another funeral home run by Elijah's son, which also has a haunted past.
