Un saludo para todas y todos los constituyentes de West Chicago.

Sabrán la mayoría de ustedes que soy mamá de un joven quien vive con autismo. Nuestra vida cotidiana es un constante reto y aprendizaje. Como algunos de ustedes quiénes tengan un familiar o hija e hijo con algo parecido sabemos que constantemente necesitamos consejos, apoyos y tiempo para nosotros mismos.

Voy a iniciar un comité para familias de y para nuestra comunidad neurodivergente quienes vivimos en West Chicago. Para lanzar esta iniciativa voy a organizar una reunión donde vamos a conversar y conocernos. Vamos a convertir a nuestra ciudad de West Chicago una ciudad con programas, actividades, recursos y una comunidad que cuidamos y apoyamos a nuestros seres queridos neurodivergentes. Si les interesa déjenme un comentario y les contactaré con la fecha, horario y lugar para nuestro comité.

Hello to all our constituents of West Chicago.

Many of you already know that I am a mother of a young man who lives with autism. Our daily lives are a constant challenge and learning experience. As many of you who care for a family member or have a son or daughter who are neurodivergent we know that we constantly need help, support, advice and time for ourselves.

I am going to create a committee for our families and neurodivergent community that live in West Chicago. To launch this initiative I will organize our first meeting so we may have a conversation and to get to know each other. We can make our city of West Chicago a city that has programs, activities, resources and a community that knows each other and cares for each other and our neurodivergent community. If you are interested, please leave a comment and I will contact you when I have the date, time and location for our first meeting.

Good morning WeGo- I had planned on continuing writing and publishing until Dec. 31st but unfortunately I am unable to continue. Circumstances have changed and effectively immediately I’m retiring from the newspaper. I truly appreciate each and every one of you who have been supportive and encouraging along the way of this journey. We are planning on continuing to be as active as possible in the community as far as advocacy, education and activism goes.

🎃👻 Here’s an update on the WeGo Varsity Football Round One Play Off Game Tonight: 🍁🏈 It’s halftime ⏰ and the score is currently West Chicago 13 vs Glenbard East 42 ~ If We Win tonight, it will be the VERY FIRST Time in 51 years since we’ve made it to the 2nd round and accomplished that awesome feat!! Regarding West Chicago Football playoffs:
🔥1st of all, we made the playoffs! Woohoo!!
This is the 3rd year in a row we’ve made the playoffs (after 21 years of not making the playoffs! Congratulations wildcats!)
🔥2nd the first game is tentatively scheduled for Friday (Halloween), there has been talk of trying to change it to Saturday instead of Halloween but, as of right now it’s still scheduled for Friday at Glenbard East high school (20 minutes away in Lombard -the previous two years they were really far away(Quincy and Bloomington) so this is SUPER convenientand close!
🔥 The team and coaches are inviting EVERYONE and ANYONE that has ever been a Wildcat to come on out and help FILL THE STANDS!! Show these kids your support and hometown PRIDE!
The school will be arranging limited transportation for students theough the school (More info to come on that!)
