Last night we had our November meeting. After the necessary business was covered we enjoyed Vegatable Soup and Chivken and dumplins. We then were told about a Servicemens Assistance Program that is administered by the National Guard and then we enjoyed the melodious strains of a Barbershop Quartet. The Carolina Breeze whom one of our Legionares is a member sang a number of selections for us.
Next month will be our Christmas get together on the 1st. Be sure to look for Post 90 in the Columbia and Lexington Veterans Day Parades.

After coming out of Walmart yesterday, I saw a bag tied to my door handle. I cut it off and looked inside, someone had left two faded and tattered American Flags for me to dispose of. No doubt they saw the American Legion crests I always have on my Jeep. They knew that I would ensure these two banners that they flew proudly for years at their house maybe while their Son or Daughter served overseas, or maybe it was another veteran who had them at his-her house . Whichever it might be, they did not know me but they knew that a Legionair would ensure they were disposed of with the same respect and honor that they had flown them.
