The Tesla Cybertruck is a fully electric pickup truck with a distinctive futuristic design and strong performance credentials. One version is estimated to sprint from 0-100 km/h in around 2.7 seconds and tow up to about 4,990 kg. It uses an all-wheel-drive electric drivetrain (in its dual or tri-motor versions) and features a stainless steel body, large central touchscreen, and other novel features like a high ground clearance (about 406 mm in βExtractβ mode). Because itβs electric, it offers lower running costs in terms of fuel, and fewer moving mechanical parts than a combustion-engine truck. The trade-offs include the very large size, high initial purchase price (especially in markets like India or for import), potential infrastructure and service-network issues depending on region, and for some variants the practicality may be compromised by weight and the novelty of the design.
The Ram 1500 is a traditional full-size pickup truck powered by internal combustion (petrol, and hybrid options in some markets) and designed for utility, versatility and everyday use. In its latest 2025 update, one variant uses a twin-turbo inline-six (βHurricaneβ) engine with up to around 540 hp and 521 lb-ft (β 705 Nm) of torque in the high-output version. The Ram offers proven infrastructure in many markets, a familiar ownership experience, and strong towing and hauling capability (while depending on the variant/configuration). The trade-offs are that as a petrol/diesel truck it will typically cost more in fuel per kilometre compared to an electric truck (depending on use) and the newest high-power variants may come with higher running costs, larger emissions and maybe heavier taxation or import duties depending on region.
