The West Covina Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a critically missing 15-year-old boy who has not been seen for several days.

Anthony Eugenio was last seen Sept. 3 at approximately 3:20 p.m. in the area of 1000 W. Louisa Avenue in West Covina, according to police.

Authorities said Anthony has autism and the mental capacity of approximately a 7-year-old child. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, blue vest and khaki pants.

Police said Anthony may have later been seen on Sept. 4 or Sept. 5 in the area of 3100 Baldwin Park Boulevard in Baldwin Park.

Anthony is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and approximately 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

A Walnut man was arrested after a bicyclist was struck and killed in an early-morning crash in West Covina, authorities said.

The crash happened around 4:47 a.m. Saturday, August 29, near Amar Road and Leanna Drive.

Police said officers arrived and found a woman who had been riding a bicycle suffering from severe injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver involved in the collision allegedly left before officers arrived. Investigators later identified the suspected driver as 40-year-old Daniel Chavarin of Walnut.

Chavarin was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run and driving under the influence, according to authorities.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information is encouraged to contact the West Covina Police Department.

A woman riding a bicycle was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning in West Covina, according to the West Covina Police Department.

The collision occurred at approximately 4:47 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, near Amar Road and Leanna Drive.

Police said officers arrived and found a female bicyclist unresponsive in the roadway with significant traumatic injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe a vehicle involved in the collision fled the area before officers arrived. No description of the vehicle was provided in the police release.

The woman’s identity is being withheld until her family is notified. Her name will later be released by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

West Covina police’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the circumstances and cause of the crash while working to identify the vehicle involved.

A traffic collision knocked down a power pole near Cortez and Montezuma this afternoon.

The crash was reported at approximately 1:02 p.m. The impact left the utility pole down in the area. The circumstances surrounding the collision and the status of those involved are currently unknown. Power is affected as crews work to restore power in the area.
