Shoutout to Sportsmans rd atv/utv repair

Some of you may have seen the posts about a legislative visit to Snow Shoe Rails to Trails yesterday. It was an amazing day where we got to show our legislators and their staff, as well as other local leaders and stakeholders, the trail system and what we all enjoy about off-road recreation. The best part is relationships with people. When we needed another 4-seat sxs to allow us to give tours to the group I reached out to Ty Maines who owns and operates Sportsman’s Rd Atv/Utv repair in the Grassflat/Lanse area.

He jumped at the opportunity to help by lending us his machine and it shows how we all love to help each other in both the off-road and local communities. If you are in the area, look them up for services.

We offer the same services in a different location (West Decatur) but really are happy when we can help each other. We want all of us be successful and this shows also how the services and supporting businesses can succeed and help our local economy by having recreation activities available. In the end we hope all people enjoy off-roading and pass that on to the next generation.

We spent part of this past Saturday with our crew at the Houtzdale-Ramey Fire Company poker run area. To help the fire companies and landowners DirtWheelers Moshannon Valley will be volunteering before and after each poker run to keep the area beautiful and do some maintenance.

We checked the trails and ran the whole route. We added some additional ribbons in hard to see areas and on some turns, cleared brush around existing signs, cleared some small trees, and picked up some litter. It’s good to go, and muddy!

We saw others riding and enjoying the area also, we hope everyone had fun. Please respect the local landowners and stay in the designated poker run area and help out by packing out more than you take in.
