THUNK Studios - “Fargo Rock City”
Founded in 2009 by founding members of Melodius THUNK, THUNK Studios has taken a new mission: to be the FM area’s home for local musician’s and bands. Borrowing from Fargo native Chuck Klosterman, we want this to be “Fargo Rock City”.
We are musicians too. We want the entire local music scene to flourish - especially original music. Our mission is to provide an awesome shared creative space. We have everything you need to rehearse, record, write, edit and mix your tracks. We’re almost done with the renovations and should be fully operational in about 2 months. 1. Awesome rehearsal space 2. PA available 3. Secure private storage lockers 4. Workspace for mixing and editing with studio reference monitors available. 5. Time slots also available for music instructors for guitar, piano, violin etc. 6. Clean and comfortable with reclaimed wood accents 7. Climate controlled 8. Studio amps available 9. Drum kit - for rehearsal and lessons 10. Keyboard available 11. All the little things too - mic stands, mic's, mic cables, extra instrument cables 12. Awesome location on 14th Avenue in west fargo. 13. Demo recording packages available 14. Bathrooms on site 15. Even a little space in the fridge!
How does the rental work?
Basically, we operate like a time share. You can claim a particular night of the week at the studio and it’s yours (unless someone else already has it). Rehearsals times are 8p-11p. Basic rental is $200 per month which includes use of the drums, practice amps, keyboard, and PA system. Some months you might have 4 sessions, other months you might have 5 depending on the start of the month and the calendar. So on a per night basis, it’s $50 or less.
