Founded in 1936, the Rhode Island Aeromodelers continues to be one the states largest R/C (radio controlled) flying clubs. Our membership is made up of men and woman of all ages, and from all walks of life. We are a chartered club ( #582) of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), the world’s largest sport aviation organization. In 1992, the Academy created a club leader program with three levels

of accomplishment (Bronze, Silver and Gold) to recognize clubs which best meet certain criteria for safety, community service and organization. The Rhode Island Aeromoderlers was the first club in the country to attain Gold Leader Club status.
