“The China Syndrome” was released on March 16,1979 only twelve days before the TMI Nuclear accident actually occurred in the state of Pennsylvania as eerily portrayed in the movie.
Nuclear Madness was written during the accident by singer songwriter Joseph Lee Ho**er who was living approximatley 70 miles downwind from the worst nuclear accident in the history of the United States and the world up until that date.
Joseph sang it at an anti-Nuclear Rally on May 6,1979 in Washington,DC USA.and recorded it a few years later. It features Joseph’s former band mates renowned lead guitarist Frankie Gilcken and Bassist Frank Ferrara from the band “Bang”.
Years later the song was featured in a UK film documentary called The Atom: A Love Affair

The China Syndrome was released by Columbia Pictures on March 16, 1979, 12 days before the partial core meltdown at the Three Mile Island reactor in Pennsylvania. The coincidence was so eerie that Columbia temporarily removed the film from some markets.
