Some have raised concerns that the Botel has remained unopened for two summers after The Tryst Fire Island purchase, but let's put this in perspective: Cherry Grove Hotel was destroyed by fire in 2015 and reopened in 2018. The Village of Ocean Beach ferry terminal was damaged after Superstorm Sandy in 2012, and the rebuilding took seven years, reopening in 2019. Whalehouse Point Restaurant at Fire Island National Seashore's Watch Hill was destroyed by fire in 2019, and Watch Hiil & Sailors Haven Marinas, Sunken Forest, Fire Island finally reopened this summer. Rebuilding takes time on Fire Island and can't be rushed.
