Opulence Pictures Co-Founder & President Nika Finch was interviewed by Emerald Robinson today on her Florida-based show The Absolute Truth. The interview highlighted the major problems that pet shelters are facing in the USA and around the world; namely, the overcrowding of dogs and other pets in shelters which has led to an unprecedented number of euthanasias. South California alone has been reported to experience an average of 300 dog killings per week. This contributes to the total number of dog killings within the USA which ranges from 1 million to 2.6 million per year.

Riverside County Shelter in California, for example, sent out a list of 79 dogs that were to be euthanized in just 72 hours. This hardly gave rescuers a chance to rehouse these dogs.
